Rizz hit the crossbar again yesterday with Haut Folin finishing a tired second behind The Scorpion King in the run-in.

Toss Of A Coin was Rizzels other selection on Thursday but a bad mistake when turning for home shattered his chances of being involved.

A few horses caught my eye on Friday but after seeing their short prices in the market, I opted to avoid them. I do have an each-way play from Ascot which I thought could offer punters some value in a race with 5 places on offer through Bet365.

Golden Move 9/1 EW – Ascot 2.30

Paul Nicholls runs two in this competitive-looking affair with Harry Cobden opting to ride the five-year-old Fascol who was unlucky last time out to finish second at Sandown. With that said, I was more interested in the Nicholls second string Golden Move who could offer some eachway value at 9/1 with Bet365 offering 5 places.

My selection was originally trained by Richard Fahey, and showed some ability when running on the flat, hitting an OR under Fahey of 82 before switching hands to Paul Nicholls in November of last year. Golden Move could only manage a couple of placed efforts in his first two outings under Nicholls which came at Taunton and Wincanton in a couple of maiden contests. He finished third on debut for Paul Nicholls at Taunton, a race that was eventually won by Harry Skeltons Doyens Quest, now rated 135.

Golden Move then placed at Wincanton, again bumping into another decent sort in David Pipes Manuelito. The second placed horse Im Ravenous from the Ben Pauling yard has returned this term to win his first two outings and place second last month. It did appear in both of those contests that Golden Move was struggling to see out the trip and a recent breathing operation has seemingly worked a treat with Golden Move taking a step in the right direction recently when getting off the mark at Wincanton under jockey Freddie Gingell. I did catch a quick replay of that contest and I have to say, it was chalk and cheese comparing his first two outings to his most recent. My selection jumped well and seemingly traveled much stronger throughout his race. Golden Move is up 8lb for that recent Wincanton success and looks open to further improvement over the obstacles.
