Cairnzy's Tips
Dakota Gold 13/2 – Pontefract 7.55
Dakota Gold is one of my favorite sprinters, he was a recent winning tip for me on the thread, and although he is not the force he once was, he can still make his presence felt at this sort of level. He looks like the value play in the contest at 13/2, and his aggressive front-running tactics will give you a run for your money. He's finished runner-up twice and won once in his last three races and can probably count himself a tad unlucky to not have another win beside his name as he found some trouble in running when caught in between horses at York and Ripon. He drops back in trip to 5f and could be a tough nut to crack if ridden prominently from the front.
Enchanted Life 7/2 – Newmarket 7.00
The Charlie Appleby-trained Enchanted Life comes here with a big chance and can make it back-to-back wins in this race for the Appleby yard, who won this very same race last year. Enchanted Life has only raced two times but could hardly have looked any better when winning easily on both occasions at Kempton and following up on seasonal reappearance at Pontefract in May. An opening handicap mark of 88 looks workable and with further progress expected, she can go close under jockey Harry Davies.
Rizzel's Tips
Kalama Sunrise 15/8 – Haydock 2.05
It's going to bite me in the backside going against Young Fire after he was a losing selection for me earlier this week, but I firmly believe he should've won races already off his mark and the fact he hasn't suggests he's gone at the game and hasn't got that will in him. So for that reason, I'm going the in-form Kalama Sunrise who has been a winning machine this year with four wins on the bounce before last time out when her winning streak came to an end. Despite losing, it was still a good effort, and she is still lightly raced, and given the way she had been winning her races prior to her last race, she looks to have more potential than these in this race. Archie Young takes over from Rose Dawes, so we are losing out on a 5lb claimer, but Archie looks like a good young jockey, so I'm not too concerned.
Quantum Leap 3/1 – Haydock 3.50
The ground might be getting a bit too quick for him with the forecast weather forecast, but if he is comfortable on good ground (should be good come the time of racing) then I think he has a superb chance in this race. His form last didn't exactly kick on after he won this exact race 12 months ago, but it didn't exactly dip, he was just running to form based on the figures until his last run of the season on heavy ground. His mark has dropped down to his last winning mark of 82 and his recent run at the start of this month at Hamilton was a very good effort, and the handicapper could've easily put him up a pound or two, but he left his rating alone. Given the form at the track, and given he won this race last year off the same mark, I think he is very dangerous to overlook.
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
