      Bristol de mai ???
Trainer twiston Davies 0-35 at sandown and 0-31 in last 5 years with chasers here.

Sherwood only 2 wins here in 5 years and they were the same horse, rayvin black.

Nichols 1 win from 25 here this year

      • elvis parsley 3 years ago

Bristol de mai v tea for two
The only 2 British trained novice chasers rated over 150.
I saw Bristol in the flesh at haydock and jumped well but wasn’t really tested.
Tea for 2 should test his jumping under pressure.
I would go for Bristol, but trainers record here puts me off.

Interesting gamble going on in the bumper at leopardstown.
Blast of koeman 20s into 5s. Trainer already beat the fav with Gurteen so knows what’s required to do it again. Not for me as Some neck will surely come on for the run but interesting nonetheless

    Champion Hurdle (Value)?
If Aristo Du Plessis wins at Musselburgh on Sunday he will probably have a rating within a lb or two of Peace and Co and be perfectly entitled to go to Cheltenham .If he doesn’t win he will probably go to the Scottish Champion Hurdle
    NRNB Betting without Faugheen

Posted this on the rugby forum 27TH JANUARY 2016 AT 4:48 AM
The Six Nations Championship is the annual northern hemisphere rugby union championship,
It is contested by (world rankings in brackets)
    England (8)
    France (7)
    Ireland (6)
    Italy (12)
    Scotland (9)
    Wales (4)

The changes have been made after what was a shocking World Cup on home soil, two wins in the group stage against Fiji and Uruguay, with two defeats at the hands of Australia and Wales
New head coach Eddie Jones has appointed Dylan Hartley as captain.
Their 23 man squad for the first match at Murrayfield against Scotland has eleven changes from the World Cup game against Australia,
There are three uncapped players coming in, Jack Clifford (Harlequins), Paul Hill (Northampton) and Ollie Devoto (Bath)
One player I was surprised to hear had been sent back to his club was Elliot Daly who has been overlooked in favour of Jonathan Joseph for the outside centre position,
George Ford should be starting at fly-half, with a second row of George Kruis and Joe Launchbury and Owen Farrell inside-centre
Chris Ashton is appealing his ten week ban which has ruled him out of the tournament unless successful.

France start their championship at home to Italy, they have had a number of retirements since the World Cup, they also have a few injuries to contend with and will have ten uncapped players in their squad,
Alexandre Dumoulin is out with Toulon centre Maxime Mermoz taking his place.
One player who will be in the team is Rabah Slimani who has been a regular for the last two years.

Last years Six Nations winners start against Wales in Dublin and were in danger of losing fly-half Jonathan Sexton for the Wales game, Sexton suffered a head injury but it now looks likely he will be fit,
Prop Mike Ross should miss the start of the tournament and with the news now that prop Marty Moore will be out for eight weeks means Finlay Bealham (Connacht) has been brought in.
Ireland have four uncapped players in the squad to face Wales
Rory Best has been named captain after Paul O’Connell retired after the World Cup, Robbie Henshaw returns after recovering from a broken hand,
Ireland’s injuries include Dan Tuohy, Darren Cave, Marty Moore, Mike Ross, Tommy Bowe, Iain Henderson and Peter O’Mahony with players coming in James Cronin, Tommy O’Donnell, Rob Herring, Andrew Trimble and Luke Marshall

Another team making changes with ten uncapped players including South African back-rowers Andries Van Schalkwyk and Abraham Steyn
Back in the team are players Kelly Haimona, Martin Castrogiovanni, Michele Campagnaro, Leonardo Ghiraldini and captain Sergio Parisse.

One win in their last twelve matches in the six nations doesn’t make good reading, that one win was a 21-20 win against Italy but last year the performances were better than the results,
Scotland start at home against England who they haven’t beat since 2008 but are being touted as championship winners this year after their run to the quarter finals in the World Cup and that agonising defeat to Australia.

One player out is Ryan Wilson who is set to get a lengthy ban after being cited for allegedly grabbing the testicles of Northampton’s Lee Dickson.
Two uncapped players coming in are props Rory Sutherland and Zander Fagerson,
Scotland head coach Vern Cotter has said that he has selected a mixture of experience with some exciting young players coming through, some of whom have experienced the World Cup and are eager to move forward.
They do have a lot of belief after the World Cup and a pretty much settled team, main player Tommy Seymore

My favourites for the six nations who have won the last two six nations in the year following a World Cup,
They start their campaign away to Ireland with George North likely to be on the left wing, but the other side is hard to call with Tom James, Alex Cuthbert and Hallam Amos all in contention.
One worry for Wales is the lack of game time for fly-half Rhys Priestland who moved to Bath and has been understudy to England’s George Ford.
Liam Williams should be fit for the Ireland game along with Sam Warburton who has recovered from an ankle injury,
I thought they were unlucky in the World Cup but played well considering the injuries they had, main player I think will be scrum half Gareth Davies, he scored five tries in the World Cup and I like him for these championships

    2016 six nations tips

    to win 6 nations

  38. Johnb 3 years ago

Wonder if anyone spotted what happened to Cold As Ice there?
I never comment about a ride until I have watched it back a few times, my first thought was poor ride by Fanning on a horse that needs to and wants to lead but that’s why I watch races over and over again, nothing Fanning could do just a freak accident that happened at the wrong time
    Very unlucky Cold As Ice

  39. thehawk 3 years ago

Looks 7f horse to me Cold As Ice was unlucky thou.

    • Johnb 3 years ago

She is better ar 5f & 6f but still good at 7f, she proved today she is a class above today’s runners but as I said just a freak accident that happened at the wrong time, Fanning reacted quick but not quick enough

Johnb Cold as ice started to rear up in the stalls as they were opened losing lengths but it also couldnt go sprinter pace down the back and when they kicked for home 6f round Lingfield is to fast and short for it even some of the front runners never made the front best horse on the day won the race superbly tipped up by Alanm.
Well done Alanm great tip and price mate.

For everyone that didn’t see what happened to Cold As Ice she got her head stuck in the stall and Fanning has done his best, she actually flew home virtually on the bridle as the race was over and Fanning wasn’t being hard on her

  45. db 3 years ago

I had a small e/w on lightscameraaction in the 1:45 when price drifted to 33/1. (Finished 4th) what did you think of that performance John

From Ewart stable this morning, make of it what you will
    Good morning everyone,
An exciting time for the stable with Aristo having his final preparations before Sunday where we will learn if his Handicap Mark justifies his ability. He is the highest rated hurdler having not won or competed in a Listed or Graded race and another two hikes could have him above Grade 1 winning Peace & Co – it is hoped that this is his ability but it does highlight the problems in north and south handicap divide and handicapping in general. Take nothing away from his achievements but Aristo has been placed very well by James and has won his races fairly but not yet at these levels so should be handicapped as such. With Willie Mullins even saying in the press this week that the UK as a whole are worse off than Ireland when it comes to championship races. He could easily be Champion UK trainer I’m sure but why jeopardise a favourable handicap come March? We wish everyone the best of luck this weekend as it is so important for not just ourselves but Scottish racing as a whole to showcase the quality of tracks and its competitors.
