Cairnzys Racing Tips: Fulfilled and Spencer fill me with confidence at Newmarket

It was another winning day yesterday with Tempus turning the tables with Modern News. If you got on at 4/1, you are laughing.

I’m absolutely delighted to call that one and to be quite honest I was quietly confident. It was encouraging to see the money come for it first of all and second of all, when I see bookmakers offering price boosts on a favourite as short as 5/4 in a small 4-runner field it makes me think they too don’t fancy it.

I’ve decided again to throw up just one selection for Friday's racing and it comes from the evening meeting at Newmarket.

Fulfilled 2/1 – 6:48 Newmarket

David Simcocks Fulfilled is a horse in good form. He won nicely at this track two starts ago. I’m more than happy to draw a line through his previous run when finishing 3rd at Sandown. He ran into traffic problems and if the trouble in running hadn’t occurred you’d say he’d probably of gone on to win again.

The main danger will more than likely come from current market favourite Just Amber who seems to be the main pick for other tipsters out there. The main argument they seem to be making is that she easily beat the William Haggas-trained Holocene last time out but I’m not totally convinced that particular form is very strong.

Holocene has won 1 race in her previous 4 and failed to win on her previous 3, it’s also worth noting she’s been sent off short prices for previous races, 8/13, 11/10 and even money. Beaten on all 3 occasions. I could be wrong but to argue that beating a horse who’s been a beaten short-priced favourite on her previous 3 races just seems a bit ludicrous.
