LEE WESTWOOD was my 4pt tip to win the Malaysian Open last week so that was a tidy profit at 10-1.

It was good see the English ace him back to some kind of form and return me to the winning trail. After his Masters display he looked steady and said at the time I will put him on my list for The Open – and I certainly will now.

What can I say about Matt Kuchar. The bunker shot at the last to win the Heritage was just awesome. For those who backed him well done. I said last week I was fed up with him and wasn’t going to tip him but did add because I'd written him off he would probably win. Does that count as a tip?

Anyway this week we’re in New Orleans for the Zurich Classic, won by Billy Horschel last year. This Peter Dye-designed course has 100 bunkers but it’s not the hardest course on the Tour. In fact last year it was rated sixth easiest layout among PGA Tour venues.

With two top-10 finishes in his last two outings Rickie Fowler looks on song. His T5th in the Masters was a gutsy display after a 75 in the second round. His stats (driving accuracy and GIR in the 60 per cent bracket) aren’t brilliant but he seems to be getting back to some form. As this course isn’t the hardest I think he’s worth a bet.

Kevin Stadler finished a credible T8th in the Masters but failed to capitalise on that form last week. His GIR stats are in the mid-60s, 20th in the ratings, but last week his driving accuracy fell to 58% from 71% in the Masters. So if he can get his driving back to Agusta level he’ll be up there.

With Westwood winning last week and Luke Donald finishing second I fancy a flutter on Justin Rose here. With two top-10 finishes and four top-25s out of seven starts he’s worth a look. This year his GIR stats stand at 65% with driving accuracy around 60% so this course could suit him.

I’m also going back in on Canadian Graham DeLaet. He failed to make the cut at the Masters but can’t hold that against him. Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnston also didn’t make it.

His stats before the Masters still hold up with five top-10 finishes and two seconds. GIR stats of 71.45% will certainly stand him in good stead and with his driving accuracy over 60% he’ll be there.

Meanwhile the European Tour is in the Far East for the Volvo China Open. Some big names are there including Henrik Stenson, Ian Poulter, Jason Dufner and Nicolas Colsaerts for the 20th anniversary of the competition.

I’m going to go for Poulter, he is No.1 on the European Tour for average putts and putts per round (27.5). GIR stats are only around the mid-fifties but as we can see from his putting stats if he gets on the greens in regulation he’ll be there.

Mr. F, I’ve gone with your point system. Hopefully these tournies will be as profitable as the previous. Westwood and Sullivan gave me a huge buzz!

This time around I really dig:

I had Kuchar as well, but have to admit he nearly blew it again on the seventeenth, 4 ft away for a birdie and he manages to make a bogey out of it, then chips in out of the bunker on eighteen for a birdie!

    He was a bit lucky
