We head into the new year in superb fettle after Californian David Lipsky won last time out at 175/1 for myself and weekly followers. A truly remarkable achievement for the world ranked 331 and such a boost for the blog.
As I write this I'm sat in the Roosevelt Lobby in New York where over indulgence has been at its premium.
A six-day trip has included 53 pints of Guinness, several Moscow Mules, six XL pizzas, four McDonalds, a rap battle in the Bronx, a trip to the Bada-Bing Strip Club and a night out with none other than Vito off the Sopranos (big 3 slice fan).
Despite this over indulgence making me a prime candidate for Type 2 Diabetes I'm super positive the golf is back.
Keegan Bradley
34 players play this week and after having several meetings whilst away in many Irish bars with over excited Yanks , I'm leaning towards KEEGAN BRADLEY.
If we can get past Bradley's slow frustrating swing he can be a birdie king, full of vigour and super aggression. He'll love the fact he's an outsider here too given the fact his return to form this year has been nothing short of incredible.
Gary Woodland
2nd choice goes to GARY WOODLAND. Woodland loves a big event and is the most under-rated golfer on Tour in my opinion.
He might bypass the big 5 or 6 and power his way to success. The man who chose golf over the NBA is seeking the reward he deserves with a big 2019.
Scott Piercy
Finally, complete the staking plan with SCOTT PIERCY. Scotty can get hotty early doors in a lot of tour events. Let's hope he does the same and hangs on rounds 3 and 4 .
