THE Lake Karrinyup County Club which hosts the SPS Handa World Super 6 tournament spreads around the lake after which the club is named.
The Perth course has undulating tree-lined fairways with a few kangaroos lying around for the players to negotiate.
First of all let me say I’m not that keen on this event. There will be a traditional 54-hole strokeplay over the first three days. There will be a normal cut after 36 holes and another to 24 players before the final day.
The remaining 24 players will then take part in a six-hole matchplay knockout on the Sunday. I think it’s a difficult ask to pick a winner.
My secret for this week's selection is my trusty pin. With the above format I can’t see how any stats can help you. So after wielding my pin and maybe a wee look at form I’m going for Louis Oosthuizen.
The South African is making his first European Tour start here this week but finished third at the Phoenix Open on the USPGA Tour two weeks ago.

Ace Venturer
Another massive outsider for me.
I backed 54 stroke play E/W
Edoardo Molinari 80/1 SB
Ace, not a fan of this tournament at all !!
Have Brent Rumford on e/way at 40/1 , should make last 24 but having checked the rules, still not sure what happens and anyway, no matter how well you are playing, couple of bad holes and you could be out, rubbish format and I hope it does not succeed.
Conners, I see he is still leading after third round but now it goes to six hole matchplay. That’s why I don’t like betting on this tournament. Anyway at least you have an interest in the last day. Good luck
Conners, well done on your selection. Great pick. Any tips for next week ????
At last, a winner at golf !
Just waiting for D.Johnson 8/1 or / and A.Lahiri 125/1 in U.S.A. to round of a good week.
Good shout with Rumford – that was a tough tournament to pick a winner.
Don’t think the format works but fair play to them for trying something different.
I’d play a lot more golf it was 6 holes.
ACE, YOU ARE THE MAN FOR GOLF TIPS !!
Conners, Rumford AND Johnson, now you’re just showing off. Well done again..
Mr Fixit and Ace, thanks for the well dones, first winners for a while.
It helps to pick the winner, but I still don,t like this format used in Super Six .Lahiri was looking good for a place in U.S.A. after two rounds, then he disappeared !
