OFTEN referred to as the “Fifth Major”, The Players provides as good a test as any of the Majors.
A par 72 over around 7,200 yards there is plenty of water about especially around the 17th Island Green.
A good drive and a hot putter will be required as normal, however more important is an accurate approach shot to very tricky greens. You need to be on the right side of the hole or you are left with difficult putts.

I normally don’t like picking the previous week's winner as it's difficult to follow up in consecutive weeks, however the way Molinari destroyed the field last Sunday with a 8 under par leads me to believe he can go close again this week.
One of the few players in the field that when he hits form he tends to keep it for several weeks.
Xander Schauffle
One of the most improved players in the field, in good form this year and has had three top 15 finishes in the last three competitions. On his debut here last year he finished Tied 2nd, can go one better this week.
Patrick Cantlay
Up to number 18 in the world due mainly to his consistent form this year. He has good solid course form when he was 2nd after 36 holes last year.
Lives close by to the course and has solid chances this week
