AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am betting tips

The PGA Tour continues this week with a trip to one of the most iconic golf courses in the world; Pebble Beach. The vintage links course in California has been the host of six US Opens and the annual Pro-Am has now been a regular on the PGA Tours schedule since 1937.

The format of the event is different from usual PGA Tour events in that all 80 professional participants are paired with an amateur over the first two rounds. Those first two rounds are played across two different courses, too, with players teeing it up at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill.

The pros are on double duty with an individual strokeplay tournament their priority and a better ball tournament with their designated amateurs also up for grabs. The Pro-Am element finishes on Friday which means the weekend action will be professionals-only and what a star-studded line-up we have for the latest PGA Tour signature event of the year.

Scottie Scheffler is set to make his first appearance of 2025 and the world number one will be keen to replicate the form that saw him win seven PGA Tour events last season. Rory McIlroy is also set to tee it up in a PGA Tour event for the first time this year.

Ahead of the first tee times tomorrow, here are our AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am betting tips.

Scottie Scheffler EW (Ten places) – 7/2

There is no reason to believe that the time off Scheffler has enjoyed over the winter will have made him suddenly become a completely different character and player. His relaxed attitude and supreme confidence should stand him in good stead against the challenges that Pebble Beach offers.

The main facet of golf that will be put to the test this week is iron play due to the high winds and small greens at Pebble Beach. While Scheffler excelled in all areas last year, he was particularly outstanding in approach shots in all weather conditions and he will be well up for the challenge this week.

Last year, in his only previous appearance at this tournament and at Pebble Beach, he finished in a tie for sixth which will at least be good enough to cover the each-way bet. In fact, Scheffler only finished outside the top ten on three occasions throughout the entirety of 2024.

Hideki Matsuyama EW (Ten places) – 22/1

It's been a promising start to 2025 for Hideki Matsuyama and the Japanese superstar has just the game to excel in the blustery conditions at Pebble Beach. Matsuyama has already picked up a win this year after winning the Sentry at the beginning of January with a record-breaking score.

Matsuyama's strengths lie in his approach play and his ability to get up and down from sticky spots when missing the greens and that is inevitably going to happen this week given how small the greens are at Pebble Beach in comparison to the average on PGA Tour.

Last year, Matsuyama ranked inside the top ten on the PGA Tour for scrambling (saving par or better after missing greens in regulation) and is currently ranked second for strokes gained on approach shots after three events played.

All things considered, his price of 22/1 with most golf betting sites is a brilliant price that should be snapped up.

Jordan Spieth EW (Ten places) – 50/1

Jordan Spieth's career may have come off the rails somewhat over the past couple of years, thanks in large to a niggling wrist injury that just doesn't seem to ever get any better, but he is still always a threat on links golf courses.

Spieth has always excelled on these types of courses, most notably in 2017 when he won the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale – one of the most ‘classic' links courses around.

Additionally, Spieth has good form at this event. He won the event in 2017 and five years later, he finished as the runner-up.
