WITH the recent addition of Desmond to the site we have a tipster who will only advise 2+ goals bets.

It's a market I've dabbled in over the past couple of years but it's mostly backing sides who are too short on the WDW market.

Desmond started well enough and his Tuesday double just fell short with Torquay scoring one. But as he double staked on Bromley his loss was just 0.17pts.

Looking about 2+ goals bets got me thinking who were teams that were most reliable. A couple of weeks ago someone asked if I was tipping overs at Bodo/Glimt and it was partly through that comment I checked their game at the weekend and picked them and of course they won 2-1.

There are other sides who stand out for goals and overs – the likes of Rangers and Dunfermline in Scotland and Colchester and Morecambe in England so that's five teams straight away. And I've included Bromley who have now won their last three 7-3, 3-2 and 3-2 – in fact they've moved up a few places.

I've decided to put together a top 10 of “go to” teams for 2+ goals or over 2.5 goals and every time they play the chart will be adjusted – teams will fall places if they don't bring up a goals bet and climb if they do.

Last night Borussia Dortmund were knocked off the top after a 1-1 draw at Hoffenheim and have been replaced by Bayern Munich who won 5-1 against Wolfsburg on Tuesday.

I'd like people to nominate teams they believe are reliable for goals and we'll have a list of clubs who could be new entrants. It could be a team from anywhere – I've focused mainly on Europe's top leagues and Scottish and English leagues.

Every weekend I'll advise some bets purely from looking at the top 10 – it will an interesting experiment to see if we can pick winners going by stats alone. Last night Napoli moved down a few places after a 0-0 draw at Carpi.

Also something to look at this weekend is the fact only four teams in the UK have seen all of their games bring up btts this season. Got a text from Greg Browning about this. They are Carlisle, Fulham, Leicester and St Johnstone – that now relates to league games after Fulham's 1-0 defeat at home to Stoke on Tuesday.

But Carlisle – even at Anfield – Leicester and St Johnstone kept up the run in their midweek cup clashes.

TOP 10

1. Bayern Munich
(7 in a row scoring 2+, 7 in a row over 2.5 goals)

2. Borussia Dortmund
(7 out of 8 scoring 2+, 7 out of 8 over 2.5 goals)

3. Colchester
(4 in a row scoring 2+, 5 in a row over 2.5 match goals)

4. Morecambe
(6 in a row scoring 2+, 5 out of 6 over 2.5 match goals)

9. Cowdenbeath

Already been mentioned but i’ll second Stamford.

Odd have been good for goals in Norway having hit a run of form. In Belgium, Mechelen and Waasland-Beveren are normally good for some goals.

Mr F I know promoting other sites are forbidden but would you mind if I shared the site page that I use for goals stats?? It’s from a site that gives predictions but not in a forum manner like this. Think it could be very helpful for a lot of newcomers getting into goals betting

If it’s just stats I have no problem.

Whoscored.com give good stats on the teams playing that day. Haven’t used it for a while with all the leagues just starting but did me well in the off season with leagues I knew little of. Sweden being one of them.

As Greg stated before Grasshoppers should be in 1st place

Grasshoppers stats for first 8 league games…

They have scored 2+ in all 8 games and conceded 2+ in 6 of 8 games.

7 of the 8 games has seen btts & o4.5gls

They have scored 27 and conceded 17 at an average of 5.5gls per game

87% of games has seen o4.5gls

Totally agree Mr.H. Grasshoppers and Basle are the most consistent goal getters averaging 3 goals in all their league games home and away. If you want to make money on over 2.5 goals or to score 2+ goals, btts, then you will be in profit. Also well done to everyone else who have mentioned teams from the Swiss league. That’s what i love bout this site people doing good research and uncovering gems like Stamford from the Northern league who throw out the we don’t defend mentality. Thanks to The Watcher for that wee cracker.

Don’t know how obscure we’re allowed to go on this but how about

    Hoffenheim u19

    Last 13 over 2.5ftg with 11 being over 3.5ftg
    They’ve scored 2+ in last 6

Full time goal line in this league is commonly 3.5ftg though so maybe not as impressive as first look suggests

Mr F can I make a suggestion that would top off this great addition to the site.

Beside each of your suggested top 10 teams could you please post the date on which they play their next match. That way it’s super easy to stick them in our bets. One quick glance and we all know that they will be playing at some point during that day.

    Anyone agree?
