Friday’s Football Tips: Firhill for thrills as Partick Thistle host Airdrie in SPFL play-offs

PARTICK THISTLE are back for another crack at the SPFL Premiership play-offs and their quarter-final with Airdrieonians is on a knife-edge heading into tonight's second leg.

The Jags came from behind to lead 2-1 on Tuesday night in Airdrie but the Diamonds had the final say as Gabby McGill secured a 2-2 draw.

Both these teams reached play-off finals last term, with Airdrieonians securing promotion to the Championship and Partick Thistle suffering heartache as they missed out on a place in the top-flight in a penalty shootout.

Kris Doolan's men are favourites to progress to the semis tonight with home advantage at Firhill but it would be foolish to write off Rhys McCabe's fearless Diamonds.

Partick Thistle vs Airdrieonians Top Betting Tips

Airdrieonians always play on the front foot so this second leg should be just as open and exciting as the first instalment. Combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 20/21 with Bet365 and that looks decent value.

A play-off tie also comes to a conclusion tonight in England as Doncaster Rovers bid to finish off Crewe Alexandra and book a place in the League Two final at Wembley.

The pick of the overseas action comes in Serie A tonight as newly crowned champions Inter Milan look to bounce back from a rare domestic defeat when they head to Frosinone.

Last week's 1-0 loss at Sassuolo was Inter's first Serie A setback since the same team beat them way back in September. Simone Inzaghi will want a response tonight but they face a Frosinone side desperate for points as they bid to stay above the drop zone.

A six game unbeaten run has lifted them to 16th place but five of those matches have ended in draws. I'm going for the half-time stalemate tonight and that pays 6/4 at Bet365.
