Euro 2024 Bet of the day

Following last night’s surprise lack of cards in Germany, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Premier League, and one fixture in particular appeals to me for both goals and cards.

⚽️ Aston Villa vs Chelsea

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Saturday 27th April, 20:00

Aston Villa will look to further strengthen their position in 4th in the Premier League table as they welcome inconsistent Chelsea to Villa Park in the evening kickoff on Saturday in a fixture that highly appeals to me for both goals and cards.

Unai Emery’s hosts are the fourth-highest scorers in the Premier League, banging in 71 goals across their opening 34 matches, with 43 (61%) of them coming on home soil.

The Villans have scored in 30 of their previous 31 Premier League fixtures in front of their supporters – scoring on multiple occasions in 21 (68%) of them – and will be confident of continuing their impressive scoring record at Villa Park against a Blues defence without a clean sheet in each of their previous 13 Premier League trips away from home, shipping multiple goals in nine of their last 11.

Mauricio Pochettino’s visitors have scored 61 goals across their opening 32 Premier League fixtures, with 26 (43%) of them coming on their travels.

The Blues have made the net bulge in 12 of their last 14 league contests on the road – scoring on multiple occasions in seven (50%) of them – and will look to breach a Villa defence that’s kept just three clean sheets across their previous 16 Premier League encounters on home turf, shipping multiple goals in six of their last eight.

Bet of the Day

Aston Villa’s opening 16 Premier League fixtures in front of their supporters this term are averaging an eye-catching 3.88 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals clicking in 13 (76%) of them – and given the same has landed in 11 of Chelsea’s previous 13 Premier League away days – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three goals between these two sides on Saturday evening, with the hosts scoring at least one of them.

To nudge the price up, I’m happy to throw in four or more cards in the match, with both sides picking up one. All 32 (100%) of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures this term have produced a minimum of four cards – with both sides receiving one in 31 (97%) of them – whilst the same has landed in 15/17 (88%) of Aston Villa’s Premier League contests at Villa Park this season.

  • Aston Villa to Score Over 0.5 Goals, Over 2.5 Goals, Both Teams Over 0.5 Cards & Over 3.5 Cards
  • Pays 5/6 (BetVictor Bet Builder)
