Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the English National League, and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

⚽️ Chesterfield vs Altrincham

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 National League

⏰ Tuesday 24th January, 19:45

Chesterfield will look to keep pace with their fellow promotion hopefuls as they welcome in-form Altrincham to the Technique Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Despite falling a goal behind, Chesterfield made it seven wins from their last eight National League matches last time out, as they defeated bottom side Scunthorpe United 4-1. Paul Cook’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in the National League with 49 goals, with 28 of those strikes coming across their 12 matches as hosts. However, The Spireites have kept just five clean sheets in the league this season, with just two of those coming across their previous 16.

Altrincham stretched their unbeaten record in the National League to eight matches last time out with a 3-2 victory over Maidenhead United. Phil Parkinson’s visitors have scored on multiple occasions in seven of those matches in that unbeaten run and also come into this fixture finding the back of the net in 10 of their previous 11 league matches on their travels. However, The Robins are without a clean sheet away from home in each of their last 12 fixtures, conceding multiple strikes in nine of those.

Bet of the Day

Chesterfield and Altrincham head into this fixture as two of the form sides in the division, with Paul Cook’s hosts winning seven of their last eight league matches, whilst the visitors are unbeaten in each of their previous eight. Given The Spirites have failed to score in just one of their 23 league outings this season and The Robins have scored in 10 of their last 11 away, there’s a good chance we’ll see the pair get on the scoresheet once more here.

Collectively, Over 2.5 goals has landed in 33/49 (67%) of the pair’s National League fixtures this season, and given the goal-scoring form both sides head into this fixture in, I reckon we’ll see at least three strikes here with both teams contributing.

I really hope that I am wrong but not sure about Alty scoring. Chesterfield have just signed our best player, Colclough who is far to good for this level, he would thrive in any division 1 team. Also Stockport have recalled Jennings from his loan to Alty so that’s 2 forwards we have lost and not yet replaced. Of course players might come in today and l believe Chesterfield met the buy out clause for Colclough so there is money available for transfers. We have taken a Chesterfield forward on loan but l can’t see him being allowed to play.
There might be more than 2 goals but not sure if Alty will contribute any tonight.
I really do hope l am wrong but just letting you know

Thanks for the insight mate! The alternative selection would be Chesterfield to Score 2+ & Over 2.5 Goals which is priced at 10/11 (Bet365), which may be a better option given the information you’ve provided!

The worst run I’ve ever seen from any tipster
Baring in mind picking no big acca just singles, I get it’s up to us to follow but my god, let down on an acca and chest to score 2 tonight I would of even put them in without seeing this write up, never again.

Greg, you’re a good tipster. Followed your tips many a times BUT IMO you need to stop doing these over 2.5 goals and BTTS. Haven’t seen you on a worse run and doesn’t seem to be Amy variety in your selections anymore just over 2.5 and btts. Hoping you get back on a winning run ASAP mate.
