Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English Premier League and there’s one fixture in particular that screams out goals to me.

Leicester City vs Southampton

??????? Premier League

⏰ Saturday 20th August, 15:00

Two sides searching for their first win of the season meet at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon, as Leicester City play host to Southampton.

Leicester began their season by throwing away a two-goal lead at home to Brentford to draw 2-2, and they followed that result up by losing 4-2 at The Emirates against The Gunners. Brendan Rodgers’ men have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League fixtures at the King Power, winning half of them (W5-D4-L1). The Foxes have found the back of the net in 13 of their last 14 league matches in front of their own supporters, scoring on multiple occasions in nine of those. Since the start of last season, Leicester have conceded in 33 of their last 40 Premier League fixtures, including in 13 of their last 15.

After beginning wish a 4-1 thrashing at Spurs, it looked like Southampton were going to begin with successive defeats but they fought from two down to draw 2-2 at home to Leeds. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men tend to struggle on their travels, winning just three of their last 20, losing 11 of them (W3-D6-L11). Since the start of last season, The Saints have found the back of the net in 31 of their last 40 Premier League fixtures, including in 18 of their last 22. Southampton have conceded in each of their last 15 Premier League matches on their travels, conceding on multiple occasions in a remarkable 13 of them.

Bet of the Day

Both Leicester and Southampton have picked up just a solitary point from their opening two league fixtures this season and both managers’s will be desperate for all three points here. Both matches between the pair finished 4-1 and 2-2 last season and given both are capable in front of goal but extremely vulnerable defensively, we should see another entertaining match-up in the East Midlands on Saturday afternoon between these two teams.

Brendan Rodgers’ men have found the back of the net in 13 of their last 14 as hosts in the league, scoring on multiple occasions in nine of those fixtures and I wouldn’t be surprised if they managed to bag another brace against a Southampton defence that’s without a clean sheet in each of their last 15 on the road, conceding two or more in 13 of those. However, The Foxes have only managed seven clean sheets in their last 40 Premier League outings and there’s every chance they’ll concede again against a Southampton side that’s found the back of the net in 18 of their last 22 Premier League matches.
