Euro 2024 Bet of the day

Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the EFL once again, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

⚽️ Rotherham United vs Coventry City

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Championship

⏰ Wednesday 25th October, 19:45

Two clubs who have made fairly underwhelming starts to the Championship season meet at the New York Stadium tomorrow evening as 23rd-placed Rotherham play host to 16th-placed Coventry City in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Matt Taylor’s hosts have scored 10 goals across their opening 11 matches in the Championship this term, with seven (70%) of them coming across their five home fixtures. Since the beginning of last season, The Millers have found the back of the net in 24 of their previous 28 Championship fixtures in front of their supporters – including in each of their opening five this campaign – and they will look to get on the scoresheet once more at home against a Sky Blues backline that is yet to record a shutout across their opening six league outings on the road this season.

Mark Robins’ visitors have scored 17 goals across their opening 12 matches in the Championship this term, with eight (47%) of them coming on their travels. The Sky Blues have made the net bulge in 10/12 (83%) of their Championship outings this season – including in all six against teams entering Round 13 in the bottom half – and they will be confident of breaching a Rotherham defence that is still yet to record a shutout in the league this season, conceding a joint league-high 22 goals.

Bet of the Day

Dating back to the 5th of last October, Both Teams to Score has banked in 17/22 (77%) of Rotherham’s Championship fixtures at the New York Stadium, including in each of their opening five of this campaign – and given both have obliged in 5/6 (83%) of The Sky Blues Championship contests on the road – I’m happy to have a punt on both of these sides to find the target in South Yorkshire tomorrow evening.

  • Both Teams to Score
  • Pays 41/50 (Unibet)

🔵 Rotherham United vs Coventry City – Both Teams to Score ❌ (2-0 ⚽️)
    🔵 Pays 41/50 👎🏼

Despite 21 shots, 16 corners and a disallowed goal, Coventry failed to get on the scoresheet to allow Rotherham to pick up their first clean sheet of the season 👎🏼
