After returning to winning ways in Oviedo on Wednesday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me remain in the Spanish second tier, and once again, I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Four days on from their dramatic six-goal thriller, Mirandes welcomes Racing Santander to the Estadio Municipal de Anduva in the second leg of their promotion playoff in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Alessio Lisci’s hosts have fired in 62 goals across their opening 43 matches in the Spanish Segunda this term, with 36 (58%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
Los Rojillos have failed to score in just one of their past 16 Segunda clashes on home soil – notching 2+ goals in eight of their last 10 and in 11 of their past 15 – and will be confident of breaching a Santander defence that’s failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their past 13 away matches in the Spanish second tier, shipping multiple goals in nine (69%) of them.
Jose Alberto’s visitors are the third-highest scorers in the Spanish third tier, firing in 68 goals across their opening 43 matches, with 29 (43%) of them coming on their travels.
Los Verdiblancos have found the back of the net in 21 of their past 23 clashes in the Spanish Segunda – striking on multiple occasions in 15 (65%) of them – and will look to breach a Mirandes backline that has kept just two clean sheets across their last 13 matches, shipping 20 goals.

Mirandes’s previous 13 matches in the Spanish second tier have averaged an eye-catching 3.31 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 10 (77%) of them.
Racing Santander’s last 16 Segunda fixtures on their travels have averaged exactly three goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals being a winning selection in 12 (75%) of them.
Prior to their six-goal thriller in the first leg on Sunday, Mirandes won 2-1 at this venue in the regular season at the end of March – and given the game state – I’m more than happy to back goals in what has the potential to be another dramatic evening in northwestern Spain on Thursday night.
