Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me once more head to the Japanese J1 League, and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter in Osaka.

Reigning champions Yokohama F. Marinos will look to keep pace with early pacesetters Vissel Kobe as they travel to the Panasonic Stadium to take on bottom side Gamba Osaka in what promises to be a high-scoring affair.
Dani Poyatos’s hosts have scored 13 goals in the J1 League this term, with eight of those coming at home. The Nerazzurri have found the back of the net in 10/13 of their league matches – including in all six in front of their supporters – and will aim to breach a Marinos defence with just two clean sheets across their opening 13 league encounters, with none of them coming on their travels.
Kevin Muscat’s visitors are the third-highest scorers in the Japanese top flight with their tally of 26 goals, with 11 of them being scored away from home. The Marinos have failed to make the net bulge in just one of their 13 J1 League fixtures – scoring on multiple occasions in seven (54%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Gamba Osaka defence that has registered just one shutout and conceded 28 goals across their opening 13 league matches.

Over 2.5 Goals has banked in 9/13 (69%) of Gamba Osaka’s J1 League fixtures this term – and given the same has landed in seven of the Marinos's previous nine league matches – I reckon we’ll see a minimum of three goals between these two clubs on Saturday morning, with both contributing.
