After recording a third consecutive winner in Denmark on Sunday, Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Irish top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Shamrock will look to extend their lead to five points at the top of the League of Ireland Premier Division table as they welcome St Patrick’s to the Tallaght Stadium this evening in a fixture that I’m keen to get the hosts on side.
After picking up a solitary point from their opening three league matches of the season, Shamrock went on to win five and draw one of their next six clashes to climb the table.
A four-match winless run then ensued for Stephen Bradley’s hosts (W0-D3-L1), but they appear to be back on track, winning each of their next three to move two points clear of both Derry City and The Bohs at the top of the table.
St Pat’s preserved their unbeaten home record in the league this season last time out, as they’ve scored twice late on to defeat joint-bottom Cork City 3-2.
However, it’s on the road where they have struggled, picking up just seven points from their opening eight away matches (W2-D1-L5), with that record changing to W0-D1-L4 when travelling to the top six, including a 1-0 loss at Shamrock at the beginning of March.

Stephen Bradley’s hosts are the leading scorers in the Irish top flight, slamming in 27 goals across their opening 16 matches, with 16 (59%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
What’s more, The Hoops come into this clash in good goal-scoring form, notching 2+ goals in eight of their previous nine league matches – including in each of their last six on home soil – and I’m backing them to bag another brace against a St Pat’s defence that has shipped multiple goals in four of their last seven matches.
