Thursdays Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the full card in the MLS, and there’s one fixture in particular that I’ve highlighted that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Two clubs at opposite ends of the Western Conference table meet at Children's Mercy Park in the early hours of Thursday morning as second-from-bottom Sporting KC entertain leaders Real Salt Lake in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Peter Vermes’ hosts have scored 28 goals across their opening 18 matches in MLS this term, with 17 (61%) of them coming on home soil.
SKC have found the back of the net in each of their nine MLS contests in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in six of their last eight – and will look to maintain their impressive goal-scoring record on their own patch against an RSL defence that has registered just two clean sheets across their opening 10 road trips in MLS this term.
Pablo Mastroeni’s visitors are the second-highest scorers across both conferences in MLS, banging in 36 goals across their opening 18 matches, with 16 (44%) of them coming on their travels.
RSL have failed to strike in just two of their last 16 MLS encounters – notching on multiple occasions in seven of their previous 10 – and will be confident of breaching an SKC defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet in MLS this season, with only San Jose Earthquakes (43) shipping more the 36 they have let in.

SKC’s opening 18 matches in MLS this campaign are averaging 3.56 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 14 of their previous 15 – and given the same has landed in four of RSL’s last eight road trips – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three strikes, with both of these sides scoring in Kansas City in the early hours of Thursday morning.
