Monday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me stay in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.
KFUM vs Ranheim
🇳🇴 OBOS-ligaen
⏰ Monday 25th July, 17:00
Two sides separated by four places and only three points meet in Oslo on Monday afternoon, as seventh-placed KFUM play host to a Ranheim side that’s only behind second-placed Stabæk on goal difference.
Despite taking the lead on two separate occasions, KFUM left Stabæk with only a point last time out, as they drew 2-2. Jørgen Isnes’ side saw their three-match winning run at home come to an end in their last fixture in front of their own supporters, as they lost 0-1 against Start. That was the first KFUM failed to score in the OBOS-ligaen this season, with them also having scored on multiple occasions in nine of their opening 15 league fixtures, including in six of their last eight. Kaffa have registered just three clean sheets so far this season, with all three coming against bottom-half sides. In fact, if the 24 goals KFUM have conceded this season, 18 of those have come in their seven fixtures against top-half teams.
Despite falling behind 0-2 and 2-3 at home to Sogndal last time out, Ranheim managed to score a late equaliser to claim a point in an entertaining 3-3 draw. After taking 14 points from a possible 18 in their opening six away fixtures this season (W4-D2-L0), Hugo Pereira’s side succumb to their first defeat on their travels in their last away mate, losing 3-2 at Sandnes Ulf. Ranheim have conceded 23 goals from their opening 15 league matches this season, with their two clean sheets coming against two of the bottom-three sides in the division. Only the top-two have stopped Ranheim from scoring this season, with the Trondheim-based side notching 30 goals already this season, with only league leaders Brann (44) scoring more. In fact, Ranheim have scored in each of their last nine matches, scoring on multiple occasions in each of their last eight.
Bet of the Day
KFUM and Ranheim are two of the most entertaining sides in the goal-laden OBOS-ligaen and I’m expecting plenty of goals when the pair meet in the Norwegian capital of Oslo on Monday afternoon. Kaffa have failed to score just once this season, with only three sides having scored more goals than their tally of 27 and given they’ve scored two or more goals in six of their last eight, there’s every chance they’ll bag another brace against a Ranheim defence that’s two clean sheets sheets have come against two of the bottom-three sides in the table. Ranheim are the second top-scorers in the division with 30, with Hugo Pereira’s visitors having remarkably struck on multiple occasions in each of their last eight matches and there’s a good chance they’ll do so once more against a KFUM defence that’s conceded 18 goals in their seven fixtures against top-half sides this season. Given both sides records at both ends of the pitch, I’m happy to take a chance on over 3.5 match goals here, a selection that won in the reverse fixture between the two just last month.
