Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on Serie A and the Norwegian Eliteserien. I’ve picked a selections from each league which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
Salernitana vs Napoli
🇮🇹 Serie A
⏰ Sunday 31st October, 17:00
Two sides at opposite ends of the table meet at the Stadio Arechi as Napoli visit Salernitana. The visitors are above Milan on goal difference at the top of Serie A, whereas the hosts are in 19th position.
Salernitana came from behind to defeat fellow promoted side Venezia 1-2 to lift them off the foot of the table. That was only their second win of the campaign, with them collecting just seven points from their first 10 fixtures. Salernitana were 0-4 down at home to the other promoted side Empoli at half time in their last home match, going on to lose 2-4. Salernitana have lost three of their four games with top half sides, including defeats at home to both Roma and Atalanta. Salernitana have one of the leakiest defences in Serie A, conceding 22 goals.
Napoli got back to winning ways after their 0-0 draw with Roma, as they comfortably dispatched Bologna 3-0 on Thursday evening. It’s been a near perfect start in Serie A for Luciano Spalletti’s side, collecting 28 points from their opening 10 fixtures. Prior to that draw in the capital, Napoli had won their first four away games, scoring 12 goals in the process. Napoli have the strongest defence in the Serie A by a distance, conceding just three goals in their opening 10 fixtures.
Viking vs Sarpsborg
🇳🇴 Eliteserien
⏰ Sunday 31st October, 17:00
European chasing Viking host mid table Sarpsborg at the SR-Bank Arena in the Eliteserien. Viking currently occupy 3rd spot, and are two points above Rosenborg. The visitors lie in mid table and are nine points clear of the relegation playoff spot.
Viking come into this in terrific form, winning each of their last four matches, scoring 10 times. In fact, they’ve actually won eight of their last 11, with only champions Bodø/Glimt defeating them. Only Molde have scored more goals in the Eliteserien than Viking, with the Stavanger club scoring on 49 occasions. Viking have scored in their last 16 successive league matches, scoring 2+ in 12 of those. Viking have scored in all bar one of their 12 home matches, scoring 29 times.
Sarpsborg have eased any concerns of relegation by winning three of their last four matches. Prior to that win at Kristiansund in their last away fixture, Sarpsborg had lost their last seven successive away matches. Sarpsborg haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last seven matches, and they’ve also conceded in each of their last eight away games, conceding 21 times. Sarpsborg have conceded 2+ in eight of their 12 away games, including in seven of their last eight.
Bet of the Day
Salernitana won last time out away to Venezia, but they have mostly struggled in Serie A this season. Napoli on the other hand have made a near perfect start in Serie, collecting 28/30 points. Napoli should have too much quality for their hosts, and I fancy the Partenopei to score at least twice against one of the leakiest defences in Serie A. Viking have been in superb form recently in the Eliteserien, as they chase that final European spot. Only Molde have scored more goals than them this season and I’m backing them to score at least twice against a Sarpsborg side that have struggled to keep clean sheets this season and who have one of the leakiest defences away from home in the league.
- Napoli to win & Over 1.5 Goals
