Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me stay in the MLS and I’ve picked out a bet builder for the game involving the New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United.

New York Red Bulls vs Atlanta United

?? MLS

⏰ Friday 1st July, 01:00

The New York Red Bulls will look to maintain their recent run of form at home, as they play host to poor traveler’s Atlanta United at Red Bull Arena.

New York Red Bulls lost 2-0 for the third consecutive game away from home last time out, as they conceded two goals in the space of three minutes against Western Conference leaders LAFC. However, Gerard Struber’s side won 2-0 against Toronto in their last home fixture, meaning they are now unbeaten in each of their last five MLS fixtures at home, as well as winning each of their last four at Red Bull Arena in all competitions. NYRB have scored in five of their last six MLS fixtures in front of their own supporters, scoring nine goals in their last three. The Red Bulls have been carded in all 17 of their MLS fixtures so far this season, earning two or more in 15 of those, whilst their opponents have been carded in all bar one of them.

Atlanta suffered more away-day misery last time out, as they lost 2-1 to Toronto. Gonzalo Pineda’s side have collected just four points from their opening seven MLS fixtures on their travels (W1-D1-L5) and come into this having lost four of their last five. The Five Stripes have recorded just three clean sheets from their opening 15 league fixtures this season, with just one of those coming on the road. In fact, Atlanta have conceded in each of their last five on the road, conceding on multiple occasions in each of their last four. The Georgia-based club have been carded in 14/15 of their MLS fixtures this season, including in all seven away, whilst their opponents have been carded in all 15 fixtures, earning multiple cards in 14 of them.

Bet of the Day

The New York Red Bulls have been in fine form at Red Bull Arena in recent weeks and they’ll be confident of securing a positive result against an Atlanta side that have struggled on the road this season. Gerard Struber’s hosts have scored nine goals in their last three MLS fixtures at home, as well as scoring three goals in both US Open Cup matches against Charlotte and city-rivals New York City in recent weeks and they should make the net bulge at least once against an Atlanta side that’s registered just one clean sheet away from this season and who’ve conceded twice in each of their last four on their travels. Both sides have been carded in 30/32 of the pair’s combined matches this season so both should get at least one card each here. In fact, The Red Bulls have been shown two or more cards in 15/17 of their fixtures this season and given 14/15 of Atlanta’s opponents have been shown multiple cards, I’m happy to back the hosts to get two more to form a solid looking bet builder.
