Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me travel to Asia and I’m backing the league leaders in the Japanese top-flight to bag yet another brace.

Yokohama F. Marinos vs Sanfrecce Hiroshima

??  J1 League

⏰ Wednesday 6th July, 11:00

The two most in-form sides in Japan go head-to-head at the Nissan Stadium, as table-toppers Yokohama F. Marinos play host to fourth-placed Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Wednesday morning.

Yokohama F. Marino’s recorded their fifth-straight win in the league last time out, as they won 3-5 away to Shimizu S-Pulse in a thrilling end-to-end affair. Kevin Muscat’s side have been in tremendous form in-front of their own supporters so far this season, collecting 23 points from a possible 27 (W7-D2-L0), with their 4-0 crushing of sixth-placed Kashiwa Reysol making it four wins on the bounce at the Nissan Stadium. The Marinos are by far the highest-scoring side in the Japanese top-flight, finding the back of the net 41 times in their opening 19 league fixtures. The league leaders have found the back of the net on multiple occasions in nine of their last 10 league fixtures, as well as in 8/9 of their home matches.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima made it five straight wins in-front of their own supporters last time out, as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over a struggling Júbilo Iwata. Michael Skibbe’s side have found things a bit more difficult on their travels, having won just two of their opening eight away fixtures (W2-D4-L2), and come into this having lost on their last road trip, going down 2-0 to 13th-placed Gamba Osaka. Despite 7/8 of their away fixtures having come against bottom-half sides, Sanfrecce have registered just two clean sheets in their opening eight fixtures away from home, conceding on multiple occasions in half of them.

Bet of the Day

Both sides come into this fixture in great form, with the hosts winning each of their last five and the visitors winning five of their last six but it’s the league leaders who I’m keen to get on side here. Kevin Muscat’s side have been in fine scoring form all season, scoring 41 goals in their opening 19 fixtures, with 15 of those coming in their last five. The Marinos have found the back of the net on multiple occasions in nine of their last 10 matches, as well as in eight of their opening nine fixtures at the Nissan Stadium and look good to bag another brace against a Sanfrecce side that isn’t the most convincing away from home. Michael Skibbe’s visitors have won just twice on the road, as well as registering just two shutouts despite seven of their eight away fixtures coming against bottom-half sides. The Marinos have scored 14 times in their last four home meetings with Sanfrecce, scoring two or more in all of them and given their scoring form this season, look good to back another brace against their opponents at the Nissan Stadium.
