After falling a goal short at Mansfield on Tuesday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Norwegian second tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Mjondalen will look to potentially move out of the relegation zone on Saturday afternoon as they welcome 11th-placed Hodd to the Consto Arena in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Kevin Nicol’s hosts have scored 24 goals across their opening 19 OBOS-ligaen fixtures this season, with 12 (50%) coming on home soil.
Mjondalen have found the back of the net in all but one of their previous 10 league outings – with only runaway league leaders Lillestrom preventing them from scoring at home this season – and they will look to breach a Hodd defence that has recorded a solitary shutout on their travels this season, shipping 2+ goals in each of their last five and six of their past seven.
Sindre Eid’s visitors have scored 23 goals across their opening 19 matches in the OBOS-ligaen, with 11 (48%) coming on their travels.
The Ulsteinvik-based club have failed to score just four times in the league this season – finding the back of the net in 11 of their past 12 – and will be confident of breaching a Mjondalen defence that has recorded just two shutouts this campaign, conceding a league-high 46 goals.

Mjondalen’s opening 19 matches in the Norwegian second tier this season have averaged 3.68 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 13 (68%) of them, including in 11 of their last 14.
Hodd’s previous 12 fixtures in the OBOS-ligaen have averaged 3.33 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in eight (67%) of them, including each of their last five on their travels (3-1, 6-1, 2-2, 2-1, & 2-1).
What’s more, this fixture tends to produce goals, with the last eight meetings between the pair averaging 3.63 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals landing in all eight (100%) of them – including in the reverse fixture in June – and I’m expecting the goals to flow in south-eastern Norway on Saturday afternoon.
