Following Saturday’s surprise lack of goals in Sinsheim, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Turkish top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Runaway Turkish Super Lig leaders Galatasaray will look to preserve their unbeaten start to the season as they travel to the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium to take on European-chasing Istanbul Basaksehir in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Cagdas Atan’s hosts have scored 28 goals across their opening 17 league matches this term, with an impressive 20 (71%) of them coming across their eight home fixtures.
The Grey Owls have found the back of the net in all bar one of their league outings in front of their supporters, striking on multiple occasions in five (63%) of them – including in each of their last three – and will look to trouble a Galatasaray backline that has only registered four clean sheets in the league this season, with three (75%) of those coming against bottom-half sides.
Okan Buruk’s visitors are the leading scorers in the Turkish top flight, slamming in 49 goals across their opening 17 matches, with 22 (45%) of them coming across their seven road trips.
Cimbom have found the back of the net in each of their opening 17 league outings – remarkably scoring 2+ in 15 (88%) of them – and will be confident of adding to their impressive goal-tally against a Basaksehir backline that has also recorded just four clean sheets in the league this season, with three (75%) of those coming against the bottom-three.

Istanbul Başakşehir’s opening eight Super Lig fixtures in front of their supporters this season have averaged an appealing 3.63 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in six (75%) of them, whilst five (63%) have seen three or more goals, including their last three.
Galatasaray’s opening 17 fixtures in the Turkish top flight have averaged a staggering 4.06 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in a league-best 15 (88%) of them, whilst 13 (76%) of them have featured goals at both ends, including 7/7 (100%) against teams positioned in ninth and above.
What’s more, these two sides faced off in the Turkish Cup in midweek, with that finishing in a 2-2 draw, and I’m hoping we see a similarly entertaining encounter in the Turkish capital on Sunday.
