Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me return to one of my favourite leagues, the Norwegian OBOS-Ligaen and I like the look of the division most in-form side to record a comfortable victory over their poor-travelling opponents.
Sandnes Ulf vs Skeid
🇳🇴 OBOS-Ligaen
⏰ Monday 8th August, 17:00
Two sides at opposite ends of the OBOS-Ligaen table meet at the Øster Hus Arena, as second-placed Sandnes Ulf play host to third-bottom Skeid on early Monday evening.
Sandnes Ulf maintained their recent scintillating form last time out, as they thrashed fellow promotion-hopefuls Sogndal 6-0 on Thursday. Bjarne Berntsen’s side have now won five and drew one of their last six fixtures in the Norwegian second-tier, winning each of their last three on home turf. Only runaway league leaders Brann (55) have found the back of the net more often than Sandnes Ulf (37) in the OBOS-Ligaen, with 21 of those strikes coming in The Wolves last six games.
Skeid claimed their first win in six matches last time out, as they recorded a surprise 1-0 victory at home to a Ranheim side well in the hunt for promotion. That was just Skeid’s third victory in the league this season, with all three of those victories coming on home turf. In fact, all 10 of Gard Holme’s sides points have come at home, with his team being the only side in the division yet to claim a single point on their travels. Only fellow strugglers Grorud and Stjørdals-Blink (both 40) have conceded more goals in the OBOS-Ligaen than Skeid (38), with half of those coming in their eight fixtures on the road.
Bet of the Day
Sandnes Ulf are the most in-form side in the OBOS-Ligaen at the moment and they should be too strong for their struggling opponents. Sandnes Ulf come into this having taken 16 points from their last 18 available and will be confident of claiming a further three points at home to Skeid side that’s yet to collect a single point on their travels so far this season. Bjarne Berntsen’s hosts have found the back of the net a remarkable 21 times in their last six outings and they should manage at least two strikes against a Skeid defence that’s already conceded 19 times in their eight away fixtures this season.
- Sandnes Ulf to Win & Over 1.5 Goals
- Pays 17/20 (William Hill)
Quite possibly the WORST game of football I’ve ever witnessed in 50 years of watching the game.
The home side strolled through the game with no urgency.
At throw-ins, free-kicks, goalkicks, corner kicks, players just dawdled up to the ball like they had all the time in the world, while the visitors had a team of time wasters.
Any other part of the world and I would’ve swore both teams had money on a 0-0.
Honestly can’t remember ONE clear cut chance in front of goal…👀
