Following Tuesday’s early winner at The Valley, The Football Bet of the Day returns on Friday and sees me take my usual trip to the Dutch second-tier, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

NAC Breda will look to continue their push towards the Eerste Divisie playoff places as they travel to the GS Staalwerken Stadion to take on 14th-placed Helmond Sport in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Bob Peeters’ hosts have scored 34 goals across their opening 22 Eerste Divisie fixtures this term, with 21 (62%) of them coming on home soil. The Kattenmeppers failed to score in just one of their league outings this season – scoring in all 12 (100%) in front of their supporters – and will look to find the target once again against a NAC Breda defence that has registered only three clean sheets in the league this season, with just one of those coming on their travels.
Jean-Paul van Gastel’s visitors are the fifth-highest scorers in the Dutch second tier, banging in 40 goals across their opening 21 matches, with 24 (60%) of them coming on the road. The Breda-based club have only failed to score twice this season – scoring on multiple occasions in 10 (48%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Helmond defence that has registered just four clean sheets in the league this season, with three (75%) of them coming against three of the bottom of four.

NAC Breda’s opening 21 matches in the Eerste Divisie this campaign are averaging 3.43 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals clicking in 13 (62%) of them – and given the same has landed in eight of Helmond’s last nine league contests, including their previous five at home – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three goals, with both of these sides finding the target once again.
