Football Bet of the Day

After returning to winning ways in Poland on Wednesday to make it eight winners from the past nine, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Icelandic top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Stjarnan vs KR

🇮🇸 Besta deild karla

⏰ Thursday 29 May, 20:15

Two clubs separated only by goal difference in the Icelandic Besta deild karla table meet at the Stjornuvollur on Thursday night as Stjarnan hosts KR in a fixture that screams goals.

Jokull Elísabetarson’s hosts have scored 12 goals across their opening eight matches in the Icelandic top tier this term, with 10 (83%) of them coming in front of their supporters.

The Blues have failed to score in just one of their league outings this campaign – striking on multiple occasions in all five (100%) at home – and will be confident of breaching a KR defence that’s shipped 2+ goals in 6/8 (75%) of their league clashes, including in all four (100%) away from home.

Runar Kristinsson’s visitors are the leading scorers in the Icelandic top flight, firing in an incredible 24 goals across their opening eight matches, with 10 (42%) of them coming on their travels.

The record Icelandic champions have slammed in 2+ goals in all eight (100%) of their league outings this season – even firing in 3+ in four of their last five and five of their past seven – and will be confident of troubling a Stjarnan defence that’s kept just one clean sheet in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in five of their last six.

Bet of the Day

KR’s opening eight matches in the Icelandic top flight have averaged a staggering 5.25 goals per game, with Over 3.5 Goals landing in all eight (100%) of them, whilst seven (88%) of them have seen goals at both ends.

Their four away matches have finished 4-3, 3-2, 2-2 & 2-2, with Both Teams to Score & Over 3.5 Goals being a winning selection in all four (100%) of them, and that’s the way I’m keen to approach this one too.

Stjarnan’s opening eight contests in the Icelandic top tier have averaged an eye-catching 3.38 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in six (75%) of them, whilst three of their last five have gone Over 3.5 Goals.

The hosts have scored 2+ in 5/5 (100%) at home this season, but have shipped 2+ in five of their last six across all venues, which should lead to a high-scoring encounter in Reykjavik tomorrow night.
