Following on from Dundee’s surprise defeat at home to Ross County on Boxing Day, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English Premier League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated only by two points in the Premier League table meet at the AMEX on Friday night as out-of-form Brighton entertain away-day strugglers Brentford in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Fabian Hürzeler’s hosts have scored 27 goals across their opening 17 Premier League fixtures this term, with 13 (48%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Seagulls have failed to score in just one of their Premier League outings – notching on multiple occasions in nine (53%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Bees backline that has registered a solitary shutout in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in 7/8 (88%) of their road trips.
Thomas Frank’s hosts are the fifth-highest scorers in the Premier League, slamming in 32 goals across their opening 17 matches, with just six (19%) of them coming on their travels.
The Bees have found the back of the net in all bar three of their Premier League outings – finding the target in six of their past seven on the road – and will look to trouble a Brighton defence that’s kept just one clean sheet at home this season, shipping multiple goals in four of their last six.

Brentford’s opening 17 Premier League fixtures this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.76 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in 13 (76%) of them – including in six of their past seven on the road – and I’m expecting another high-scoring encounter between these two sides at the AMEX on Friday.
