Football Bet of the Day

After falling an Aalesund goal short in Norway on Wednesday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Trinidad & Tobago vs Haiti

🏆 CONCACAF Gold Cup

⏰ Thursday 19 June, 23:45

Two nations who will look to earn their first points in their Gold Cup campaigns meet at the Shell Energy Stadium on Thursday night as Trinidad & Tobago take on Haiti in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Ex-Manchester United and Aston Villa forward Dwight Yorke has seen his side score 43 goals across their past 24 internationals, with 25 (58%) of them coming across their last 11 matches.

The Soca Warriors have found the back of the net in 18 (75%) of those internationals – notching on multiple occasions in seven of their past 13 – and will look to breach a Haiti defence that has kept just four clean sheets across their past 11 matches.

Sebastien Migne’s side have fired in an eye-catching 36 goals across their previous 11 internationals.

Prior to their 0-1 defeat against Saudi Arabia in their Gold Cup opener, Les Grenadiers had found the back of the net in their previous 10 fixtures – striking 2+ goals in an impressive nine (90%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Trinidad defence that’s kept a solitary clean sheet across their previous 14 encounters, shipping multiple goals in each of their last five.

Bet of the Day

Trinidad & Tobago’s previous 14 internationals have averaged an eye-catching 3.93 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 11 (79%) of them – including in each of their last seven – whilst seven of their past 11 have produced goals at both ends.

Haiti’s previous 11 internationals have averaged a whopping 4.45 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 10 (91%) of them, whilst four of their last seven have produced goals at both ends.

Given both of these sides lost their group openers to the USA and Saudi Arabia, respectively, they know they’ll realistically need to win here to keep their hopes for a top-two finish alive, which will hopefully lead us to an open and high-scoring clash.

  • Over 2.5 Goals
  • Pays 19/20 (Bet365)
