After recording a fourth successive winner in Ireland on Monday, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Premier League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Manchester City vs AFC Bournemouth
🏴 Premier League
⏰ Tuesday 20 May, 20:00
Manchester City will look to climb back into the Champions League places on Tuesday evening as they welcome European hopefuls Bournemouth to the Etihad in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Pep Guardiola’s hosts have fired in 67 goals across their opening 36 matches in the Premier League this season, with 40 (60%) of them coming on home soil.
The Citizens have failed to score in just two of their 18 Premier League contests at The Etihad this campaign – notching on multiple occasions in 12 (67%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Cherries backline that has recorded just two shutouts on their travels this campaign, shipping multiple goals in 9/18 (50%) of them.
Andoni Iraola’s visitors have scored 55 goals across their opening 36 Premier League encounters this term, with an impressive 34 (62%) of them coming on their travels.
The Cherries have blanked in just three of their 18 Premier League clashes on the road this campaign – notching on multiple goals in 11 of their last 13 – and will look to continue their extraordinary goal-scoring record away from home against a City defence that’s kept just five clean sheets at home in the Premier League this season, with three (60%) of them coming against the bottom-seven.
Bet of the Day
Manchester City’s opening 18 Premier League fixtures at The Etihad this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.44 goals per game, with 13 (72%) of them seeing Over 2.5 Goals pay out – including in 9/10 (89%) of their clashes against teams positioned in 12th and above – whilst 11 (61%) have produced goals at both ends.
Bournemouth’s opening 18 Premier League contests on their travels have averaged an eye-catching 3.39 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in a league-high 14 (78%) of them, whilst 12 of their last 13 and 14 of their previous 17 have produced three or more goals.
What’s more, this fixture tends to produce goals, with the last 17 meetings between the pair between the pair have averaged 3.59 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 14 (82%) of them – including in all seven at The Etihad – whilst seven of the past nine have produced goals at both ends.
