Football Bet of the Day

After making it five consecutive winners in China on Monday, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into the Club World Cup, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Real Madrid vs Juventus

🏆 Club World Cup

⏰ Tuesday 1 July, 20:00

Real Madrid and Juventus face off in the last-16 of the Club World Cup in Miami this evening in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.

Xabi Alonso’s reign as new Real Madrid boss didn’t get off to a flying start, as his new side could only draw 1-1 with Al Hilal in their group opener after Federico Valverde missed a stoppage time penalty, before being reduced to 10-men after just seven minutes in their second group game against Pachuca.

However, their quality showed through, as they went on to defeat the Mexicans 3-1, before defeating RB Salzburg 3-0 in their final group match to top Group H.

Juventus qualified for the knockout stages with a game to spare, as they thrashed Al Ain and Wydad 5-0 and 4-1 respectively in their opening two group matches.

However, Igor Tudor’s men suffered a heavy defeat of their own in their final group match, as they were beaten 5-2 by Manchester City, meaning they had to settle for second place in Group G.

Bet of the Day

Juventus’s opening three Club World Cup matches have averaged a staggering 5.67 goals per game, with all three matches featuring a minimum of five goals (5-0, 4-1 & 2-5).

Xabi Alonso’s opening three clashes as Real Madrid boss haven’t been as high-scoring as their opponents, but have still averaged three goals per game, with the last two going Over 2.5 Goals, with only a missed penalty late on for Los Blancos in their 1-1 draw with Al Hilal in their group opener preventing that from also going Over 2.5.

Given the number of goals these two European giants have scored at this tournament so far, coupled with their defensive vulnerabilities, I’m expecting to see goals in Miami this evening.
