Following on from Thursday’s winner in Dundee, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me remain in Scotland but drop down to the Scottish fourth tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ East Fife vs Forfar Athletic
🏴 League Two
⏰ Saturday 4 January, 15:00
Two clubs at opposite ends of the Scottish League Two table meet at Bayview on Saturday afternoon as promotion-chasing East Fife entertain rock-bottom Forfar in a fixture that I’m keen to get the hosts on side.
East Fife bounced back from their 2-0 defeat away at promotion-rivals Peterhead as they thrashed the Spartans 5-1 in their last league outing just before Christmas.
That result continued The Fifers strong home record this campaign, with no side collecting more points at home in the Scottish fourth tier than them, with Dick Campbell’s men picking up an impressive 22 points from a possible 27 (W7-D1-L1).
Forfar are currently bottom of the League Two table – four points adrift of ninth-placed Bonnyrigg Rose – which is largely due to their terrible record on the road.
Jim Weir’s visitors have lost seven of their eight road trips in the league this season (W1-D0-L7) – including each of their past four – with their solitary success coming at Bonnyrigg at the end of September.
Bet of the Day
Dick Campbell’s hosts have found the back of the net in each of their nine league encounters on home soil, notching on multiple occasions in seven (78%) of them – including in a 2-1 win over their upcoming opponents in the middle of August – and I’m hoping we see a similar outcome in Methil on Saturday afternoon.
- East Fife to Score Over 1.5 Goals
- Pays 10/11 (William Hill)
