Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Premier League match at the City Ground and I’m expecting an open encounter with both sides getting on the scoresheet. To boost the price up, I’ve added a cards angle to form a solid looking bet builder.

Nottingham Forest vs Fulham

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Friday 16th September, 20:00

Two sides who won promotion from the Championship last season meet at the City Ground on Friday night, as Nottingham Forest play host to Fulham.

After collecting four points from their opening three matches back in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest come into this having lost each of their next three to leave them in 19th position. Steve Cooper’s side were on course to claim their second league win of the season as they raced into a two-goal lead at home to the other newly-promoted side Bournemouth last time out, but a second-half capitulation saw them lose 2-3. Only Bournemouth (18) and Leicester (16) have conceded more goals in the Premier League than the 14 Forest have let in. The Tricky Trees have found the back of the net in 13 of their last 14 league outings at home, scoring on multiple occasions in 11 of them.

Last year’s Championship winners Fulham have made an impressive start to life back in the Premier League, as they sit in ninth position after collecting eight points from their opening six matches. Marco Silva’s side have lost each of their last two Premier League matches on their travels, losing 2-1 to North London duo Arsenal (1st) and Tottenham (3rd). The Cottagers have only managed one clean sheet in the league so far this season, conceding on multiple occasions in four of those outings. Fulham have also found the back of the net in 5/6 of their Premier League fixtures this season, scoring nine times.

Bet of the Day

Nottingham Forest will look to put an end to their three match losing run but face a tough test against a Fulham side who’ve made an impressive start to the season. Fulham’s matches have been fairly entertaining so far this season and with Forest playing at home, I’m expecting an entertaining encounter at the City Ground between these two newly-promoted sides.

Steve Cooper’s hosts scored at home to West Ham and struck twice against Bournemouth and I expect them to get on the scoresheet against a Fulham defence that’s only managed one clean sheet so far. Marco Silva’s visitors have scored in 5/6 of their league matches and they too should net against a Forest defence that’s already conceded 14 times this season. These two clubs have been shown a card in all 12 of their combined Premier League fixtures this season, therefore, I’m happy to add in both sides to receive a card to form a solid looking bet builder.
