THE only online bookmaker listing first-scorer prices on ALL SPFL games are McBookie.com so here's Damien from the firm with his best bets to notch an opening goal in Scotland this weekend.
Connor Shields (Queen of the South)
The Scottish Cup returns this weekend but I am struggling to find too much value there, so I’ll start this week in the Championship where Dunfermline have really let things slip.
In the first half of the season the Pars looked to be the biggest challengers to runaway leaders Hearts, but since their 1-0 win over Arbroath on Boxing Day they won just three of their next 15 Championship games.
And in recent games the chances have started to dry up as well. In their last four matches Dunfermline have had just 20 attempts on goal in total.
Incredibly, if they lose on Saturday at home to Queen of the South, then Dunfermline will be leapfrogged by the Doonhamers and drop out of the play-offs spots.
And that is incredible not just for Dunfermline, but also Queen of the South who have won eight of their Championship games since Boxing Day having looked strong candidates for automatic relegation at Christmas after just a sole league win in the first half of the season.
In short, I thought Dunfermline were massively underpriced at odds on and they value lay with the visitors and their first goalscorers.
Simon Murray (Queen's Park)
Queen of the South striker Connor Shields has scored 11 goals from 25 games this season and is 5/1 with McBookie to open the scoring.
In League Two table-toppers Queen’s Park have put together an incredible run which has seen them take 34 points out of a possible 36 from their last 12 league games.
On Saturday they travel to face second-placed Edinburgh City and I thought odds of 3/4 were pretty good given the Spiders’ fantastic form and the quality they have in the squad.
Simon Murray did this column a favour last weekend with the opening goal against Stenhousemuir and he followed it up in midweek with the only goal of the game against Annan Athletic.
He is at least a couple of levels above League Two standard and the 9/2 with McBookie about him opening the scoring for the third successive game looks decent.
Rory McAllister (Cove Rangers)
Finally in League One we have a huge game between third-placed Cove Rangers and leaders Falkirk at the Balmoral Stadium.
The visitors looked a shoe in for the title and automatic promotion but are almost falling over the line having gone from 2/7 to 4/5 in the last month.
A trip to Highlands to face Cove Rangers is probably the last thing the Bairns need right now and whilst the bookies make both sides 13/8 I would have Cove as my market leaders.
Prolific striker Rory McAllister scored the only game of the game last weekend against Dumbarton and McBookie make him 6/1 to open the scoring on Saturday.
