TWO promoted teams with differing fortunes meet in the early evening Serie A kick-off as Frosinone host Bologna.
Frosinone have struggled in the top flight – they sit second bottom, are winless in eight and their only victory in 12 came against rock-bottom Hellas Verona.
They're also leaking a shedload of goals, conceding two or more of 11 in their last 12 outings. Bologna, in contrast, have risen out of the doldrums since since ex-Italy boss Roberto Donadoni took charge in Ocotber.
Donadoni's side have taken 10 points from the last 15 available and netted at least two in their last three games. To score over 1.5 goals again they are 7-5 at William Hill and a Bologna win is 29-20 at Betfair while Bologna draw no bet is 10-13 at marathonbet.
At the top of the table, pacesetters Napoli travel to Lazio where they're unbeaten in the last four visits. The Naples outfit have been scoring for fun in a six-game winning streak, with star striker Gonzalo Higuain taking his tally to 22 goals in 22 games.
Lazio are unbeaten in seven but are depleted by injuries and suspensions tonight and I'm siding with Napoli who are evens at Betfair for the win and 4-9 in the draw no bet market.
I'm also taking a goal treble starting with the top of the table Scottish clash as Celtic travel to Aberdeen.
Three of the last four Pittodrie meetings of these teams have seen both score and the Dons are potent on their own patch while champions Celtic are good going forward but their suspect defence is always liable to leak a goal or two.
In Belgium, Bruges try to overturn a 2-1 first-leg deficit in their cup meeting with Ghent. Eight of the last nine meetings have seen btts land and there should be goals in this semi-final.
And in the Dutch Cup quarter-final Roda, unbeaten in three, can hit the net against Feyenoord who've gone right off the boil with five defeats on the bounce.
Scott's single
Bologna to score 2+
(7-5, William Hill)
Scott's double
Bologna draw no bet
Napoli draw no bet
(6-4, Betfair)
Scott's goals treble
Aberdeen v Celtic btts
Bruges v Ghent btts
Roda to score
(10-3, Unibet)
Scott, just said to Mr F that I liked the Bologna goals, but took Bordeaux in a team to score double. Bologna do look good for a couple so hope Bordeaux doesn’t bite me! Good luck mate.
Fingers crossed mate, hopefully Bologna and Bordeaux do us both proud.
Hi Scott. I’m waiting till Saturday before I back any fancies of my own so will take up your goals treble. I like the look of it. The last time I backed Feyenoord they were pathetic, losing 1-2 at home to Heerenveen when I had them over 2.5mg and win. They’ve since lost at home again 0-2 to Den Haag so I don’t know what’s going on there. They’re now 13 points adrift of 2nd placed Ajax. That got me thinking about your ‘Roda to score’ rather than BTTS. I can see the sense in that but I’m hoping Feyenoord will shake themselves up a bit in the Cup and I’m gonna take a risk and going BTTS at 8/13 (Laddys) along with your other two. That pays just over 7/2. I’m tempted to add Bologna +2 goals but am nervous about away selections turning it on, and wish you the best of luck.
Best of luck to you too stagger. Feyenoord should score, they’ve been rotten recently but still have plenty of talent.
Cheers Scott.
Actually it’s just as well I fancy Feyenoord to net as I tried to look up Roda over 0.5 tg and the Laddys FOBT didn’t appear to offer it. I wanted to compare it to the 8/13 for BTTS but nothing doing.
So it’s BTTS at Aberdeen, Brugges and Roda (15/4)
stagger, I’ve got Roda to score on the forum but it’s just 2-5 with Hills on their team to score coupon.
Thanks for the price info, MrF. If the Laddys FOBT had offered me that I’d deffo have stuck with BTTS. Thank you.
Hard lines, mate. A fair few Unders and ‘nils’ flying about tonight. Goals at a premium.
Honking night for me mate. Will dust myself down and go again at the weekend.
Scott, wasn’t the best set of results – I was lucky enough to go against Celtic and the second win was a pretty safe treble.
Good night’s work Mr F. Kicking myself for putting Bologna on two lines.
