Some people do goals markets exclusively and sneer at win-draw-win bets. I like both to be honest but the advantage with goals markets is you don't need to pick a result.
There are loads of different bets to look at – teams to score, teams to score 2+ or 3+, both teams to score, teams to score in both halves, etc.
Yesterday Watford and Dumbarton beat the btts treble and Blackburn the 2+ treble – and it was frustrating to see them hit the woodwork twice late on in the second half in their 1-1 draw with Blackburn.
I'm hoping to do better with today's goals treble and start with btts at Cagliari v Inter. Anyone who watched Inter's 3-3 draw at Celtic on Thursday will expect them to concede.
Celtic tore them apart at times with pace and have conceded eight goals in their last four. They have also failed to keep a clean sheet on five out of six visits to Cagliari and lost 4-1 at home earlier in the season. Both teams have scored in Cagliari's last six outings. Note: this is a Monday game but was incorrectly listed for Sunday.
Next I'm on over 2.5 goals at Wolfsburg v Hertha Berlin which has come up in three of the past four playings of this fixture including 5-1 and 3-2 wins for Hertha.
This time it should be a Wolfsburg win and I've already tipped on-fire Bas Dost to score first. Wolves have netted 17 in six games and on form could cover the over 2.5 goals on their own.
Complete the treble with both to score at St Etienne v Marseille. Saints are usually watertight but haven't kept a clean sheet in four – for the first time in a year. Their last home game was a 3-3 draw with Lens.
Marseille are wobbling in their title fight and have won just twice in six with both scoring in five of those games. This looks a draw – and hopefully it will be a scoring one.
