THE Europa League didn't produce as many goals as expected with a few surprise results thrown in.
I said I'd do a Super Single on Dortmund and Sevilla to score 2+ if line-ups confirmed strong sides and that was the case so a 2pts win puts me back in profit.
The both to score treble started well with Fiorentina v Spurs but the evening games produced even fewer goals unless you were looking at six-hit sensations Valencia. Happy birthday Gary Neville! Bet you had a better night than Louis van Gaal at your old club.
As regulars will know I don't have much time to look at Friday's card but have decided to post a couple of bets in between writing my Saturday Daily Record column.
I posted a separate preview on Partick Thistle v Aberdeen but that's off now and in today's Record my Super Single is Juventus to win to nil at Bologna at 11-8 with McBookie. I'm going with that on the site too.
Juve, on a run of 19 wins, are worth putting on accas at 3-5 with McBookie and they've won to nil on their last two visits.
On the opposite scale try both to score at Eintracht Frankfurt v Hamburg – the last six have gone that way with 25 scored. Best price is 4-6 at McBookie.
I'm going with an ambitious treble to try to virtually wipe out the losses in one go so only take it if you really like it. Start with Juventus -1AH, btts at Eintracht and under 2.5 goals at Nancy v Paris FC. Paris have lost two 1-0 and drawn 0-0 three times in their last five but that's tempered by the fact Nancy are high scorers.

Not been on the best run in my battle with the bookie lately but ill be siding again with the team that let me down a few days back in an absolute must win last throw of the dice game for an almost relegation bound Warrenpoint side that had been in good form before the narrow 1-0 loss at Dungannon on Monday,a game that by all accounts they were unlucky to lose given they totally dominated in attack striking the woodwork and missing a host of chances including a couple of chances cleared off the line and a MOTM performance from Dungannon keeper Andy Coleman who made a string of fine saves,Dungannon scoring from a defensive error which resulted in them scoring with their only shot on target in the game.

Hopefully a bit of value in Mexico and Australia overnight for me.
First game is the Copa Libertadores which is the biggest cup competition in the Americas so I’m going to take my chances that Pumas will be playing a decent squad. Emelec come from a small city in Ecuador down by the coast and have a capacity of 12,000 in their home stadium and will be travelling up ‘literally’ to Mexico City where they’ll be playing at a much higher altitude than they’re used to. They have only won two away game in the Copa Libertadores in the past 8 years and their most recent losses in Mexico were 2-0 and 3-0 wins.
Be interesting to see what the altitude does second half but they should struggle here against a Pumas side who are generally better at home. Taking a chance they play a decent side being an important cup game.

Morning game takes us to Australia where two of the A-Leagues in form teams square off for a showdown. The Victory haven’t lost at home since April last year and have only drawn twice since then. They’ll host Adelaide who are unbeaten in their last 11 A-League games, so this is a tough one to predict. Not looking for goals here though, only a goalscorer. Winger Kosta Barbarouses is suspended for the Victory so they’re an attacking threat down, but luckily they still have one of the most clinical finishers in the A-League over the past couple of seasons, and he loves scoring against Adelaide. Besart Berisha leads the Victory and is second in the charts with 14 goals. Scoring 3 in his last 3, and has scored 11 goals against Adelaide n his four year A-League spell. Only Perth Glory (12) have conceded more goals to Berisha than Adelaide, who are level with Melbourne City on 11. Adelaide conceded twice last time away from home against statistically the leagues worst team overall and at home and were without a defender through suspension. They will be without him once more against the only undefeated team at home this season.

I have been trying to find a 3rd party software that will let me get notification of news posts on website but the only thing i can find is plug ins that need to be installed on the site it’s self so we (the end user” can get notifications.
Please look into it because it would be very helpful if someone like Greg posts and it pushes a notification to our phones or desktop alert..

They need to win to cement their place at top spot and put pressure on Napoli, they’re playing on Friday so have an extra days rest so should field their strongest available 11. I was checking the Czech game and Jihlava’s topscorer Mesanovic now plays for Slavia Prague!
Jihlava have a good record at home to Prague and overall have won 5 of the last 6 games against them and are priced at 3/1, but like you say mesanovic is now with Prague and I think goals is the safest bet 7 from last 8 meetings have gone over 2.5

Surprised at the price I’m getting here. I’m guessing the weather might have something to do with it as it is likely to be belting it down tomorrow afternoon across the UK so maybe caution advised but I can’t see much wrong with it. I do think Bury Double Chance is a nice market but would much rather take the goal considering they have only failed to score once at home in their last 7, with Colchester not keeping a clean sheet away from home this season. Bury need to face an opponent like this and should have some confidence after their win over the Blades in the week. Hope so anyway @hullshaker :)

A young player who I’ve been taking note of this season in the Eredivisie who I think has a bright future. At only 21 years of age in his first season in the Eredivisie, he has 14 goals in 21 appearances, 8 in his last 6, and in both of his last two consecutive games. AZ are in terrific form at the moment and Janssen has played his part. Groningen have only kept once clean sheet away from home in the league this season and with beating AZ 2-0 in the revers fixture, I expect a bit of revenge for the home side.
