I WENT for it big style last week with a 37-1 treble only beaten by St Mirren who drew 0-0 at Aberdeen.
It was the biggest treble I've posted and two out of three – Bristol City and Yeovil – was a good effort.
Inspired by that near miss I'm turning my nose up at three shorties and once again going for three teams I really fancy – no matter the price.
And I'm starting with St Mirren who should have won last week but found a Pittodrie pitch in terrible condition that affected their style of football. And near the end on-loan Portuguese hitman Esmael Goncalves missed a sitter.
Still it's three wins and a draw in four games for Danny Lennon's side and they tackle a Hibs outfit with just two goals in five outings. Admittedly they've conceded just two in that spell but one goals may be enough for Saints and they should at least manage that with Goncalves and Steven Thompson in fine form.
The next team were on my treble last week and I make no excuses for picking Yeovil at home to Scunthorpe.
Gary Johnson's men are on a run of 10 successive wins and the only fear is it has to end at sometime. But Scunthorpe at home, especially when they are around the evens mark, shouldn't be the stumbling block.
Top scorer Paddy Madden has just been named League One Player of the Month and he can celebrate with a goal and three points.
Complete the treble with Crystal Palace at home to Middlesbrough. It's fourth v fifth but Boro have been really struggling. A 1-0 win against Leeds last week ended a run of four league defeats and Tony Mowbray's side, with nine losses on the road, can't head to Selhurst Park with much confidence.
Palace also suffered a slight dop in form but looked as they held Watford 2-2 at Vicarage Road last week and despite selling Wilfried Zaha to Man United they have kept hold of the exciting talent to the end of the season.
With Glenn Murray continuing to bang in the goals I reckon Palace will be too hot for their visitors.
