In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 28 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
After a break due to the FA Cup, the Premier League is back this weekend with some enticing fixtures that could see some big scores from a number of popular players in FPL. Mohamed Salah and Cole Palmer in particular will fancy their chances, with Liverpool and Chelsea playing host to the bottom two teams in the division in Southampton and Leicester City respectively.
Nonetheless, here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 28, if you own him, Salah is probably the most viable captaincy option given his irresistible form for Liverpool in the 2024/25 campaign, and due to the fact that the Reds are up against rock-bottom Southampton at Anfield.
However, for those who do not own Salah or want to pick a differential captain, Palmer (£11.1m) is also be a viable option as Chelsea play host to Leicester at Stamford Bridge, with the visitors also struggling at the bottom of the table.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 28, using the triple-captain chip on him seems very tempting given the big FPL hauls that we know that he is capable of.
However, we would always advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
Flying wing-back Daniel Munoz (£5.0m) could well be a popular transfer in this week as Crystal Palace welcome struggling Ipswich to Selhurst Park. However, FPL managers should be warned that the Colombia international has picked up a grand total of seven yellow cards so far in the 2024/25 campaign, among the most in the Premier League.
- Market-best odds on Daniel Munoz to be booked: 9/2
Which defender is most likely to score?
Marc Cucurella (£5.1m) found the back of the net in Chelsea's comfortable 4-0 win at home to Southampton in the Premier League last time out. The Blues have another favourable fixture against Leicester at Stamford Bridge over the weekend, and the Spain international left-back could well add to his tally of three goals already so far this season.
Market-best odds on Marc Cucurella to score anytime: 23/2
Our top three cheap in-form players
Yankuba Minteh
Yankuba Minteh (£5.0m) has scored an impressive total of 23 points over the previous three gameweeks, and the Brighton midfielder will certainly relish some of his side's upcoming fixtures. The Seagulls welcome Fulham to the AMEX Stadium next in the Premier League.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.4m) has scored 19 points in total over the last two gameweeks, and is at a very cheap and affordable price in FPL. West Ham United welcome a depleted Newcastle United without a handful of key players including Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall to the London Stadium next up, with the Magpies also potentially having one eye on the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium in their next fixture.
Yoane Wissa
A number of FPL managers will be looking for replacements for forwards Matheus Cunha and Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the former on the end of a three-game ban for Wolves and the latter injured for Palace. Yoane Wissa (£6.4m) could be an ideal replacement, with the Brentford forward looking to find the back of the net for a third match in a row in the Premier League as the Bees welcome Aston Villa to the Gtech Community Stadium over the weekend.
