In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 21 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
Gameweek 21 presents the first full round of midweek Premier League fixtures in 2025, with some marquee matchups to look forward to including third-placed Nottingham Forest hosting league leaders Liverpool at the City Ground, while there is a North London derby at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal play host to Tottenham Hotspur.
Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 21, if you own him, Cole Palmer is perhaps the most viable captaincy option given Mohamed Salah's relatively tough fixture for Liverpool away at Nottingham Forest. Meanwhile, Chelsea are up against AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
However, for those who do not own Palmer or want to pick a differential captain, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland (£14.8m) could be a great option as the reigning champions come back into form, travelling to a Brentford team that have lost their last three games at home in all competitions.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Palmer is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 21, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem tempting given the big FPL hauls that we know that he is capable of, added to the fact that Chelsea are playing a Bournemouth team at home that will likely play open and expansive football, therefore giving Palmer and his teammates chances in attacking situations.
However, we would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
With two goals and a further assist in his previous two matches in the Premier League, Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap (£5.6m) could be a popular transfer for FPL managers as the Tractor Boys host Brighton and Hove Albion in Gameweek 21. However, the Englishman is prone to being shown a yellow card with six already collected so far in the 2024/25 campaign, and so may be a player to avoid because of this.
Market-best odds on Liam Delap to be booked: 10/3
Which defender is most likely to score?
Brazil international Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.4m) scored for Arsenal in their 1-0 win at Tottenham in the reverse fixture earlier on in the season, and also netted for the Gunners in their most recent game against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in the FA Cup, although they were knocked out 5-3 on penalties.
His three goals in the Premier League in total make him a serious goalscoring threat from the centre of Arsenal's defence, and so do not be surprised if he manages to get on the scoresheet once again in the North London Derby.
Market-best odds on Gabriel Magalhaes to score anytime: 13/2
Our top three cheap in-form players
Lewis Hall
Newcastle United have won their last five games in a row in the Premier League, and Lewis Hall (£4.9m) has played a big part in their recent impressive form. Indeed, the England international left-back has kept a total of four clean sheets and contributed three assists in this period, scoring highly for FPL points ahead of the Magpies entertaining a struggling Wolves side at St. James' Park in midweek.
Savinho
At such low ownership in the game, Savinho (£6.5m) could be a great differential for FPL managers to bring into their teams. Indeed, Manchester City's Brazilian midfielder has contributed one goal and four assists in his previous two matches in the Premier League, and is high on confidence as Pep Guardiola's side visit out-of-form Brentford in midweek.
Raul Jimenez
As we have recommended both a defender and midfielder for FPL teams, it is only fitting to now shed some light on a forward in Raul Jimenez (£5.7m). Indeed, the Mexican has netted three times in his last two matches in the Premier League, as Fulham travel to a West Ham United team who leak plenty of goals.
