In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 19 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
Gameweek 19 is the last round of fixtures before the New Year, with Arsenal travelling to Brentford in a London Derby on New Year's Day to round off the set. Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 19, if you own him, Mohamed Salah seems like the obvious captain choice given his sensational form for Liverpool, as he and his team travel to West Ham United aiming to restore a nine-point lead back at the top of the table before Arsenal play again.
However, for those who do not own Salah or want to pick a differential captain, Cole Palmer (£11.3m) is another intriguing choice, as Chelsea travel to a struggling Ipswich Town side who have not won at home all season.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 19, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem tempting given his recent form, and the fact that Liverpool have only lost once all season as they meet West Ham at the London Stadium.
However, we would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
With the likes of Brentford's Mark Flekken and West Ham's Lukasz Fabianski picking up unfortunate injuries in the last gameweek, some FPL managers may be scrambling for a new goalkeeper to bring in.
Chelsea's Robert Sanchez (£4.7m) could be a popular choice with a favourable fixture against Ipswich coming up, but the Spaniard has picked up a total of four yellow cards so far in the 2024/25 campaign, and one more would see him serve a one-game suspension before bookings reset after this gameweek.
Market-best odds on Robert Sanchez to be booked: 15/2
Which defender is most likely to score?
While Manchester City have been in terrible form with just one win across 13 matches in total over all competitions, Josko Gvardiol (£6.0m) has still been coming up with goals. Indeed, the Croatia international is the highest-scoring defender in the division thus far with four goals to his name, and a visit to struggling Leicester City gives him another decent chance of getting on the scoresheet.
Market-best odds on Josko Gvardiol to score anytime: 7/1
Our top three cheap in-form players
Jordan Pickford
For those who do not want to risk bringing in Sanchez for a goalkeeper transfer this week, Everton's Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) seems like another viable choice. England's number one impressively conceded just one goal combined against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City over the last three gameweeks, racking up a total of 24 points in FPL.
Tyrick Mitchell
Every FPL manager needs a cheaper defender that will still keep the points ticking, and Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell (£4.8m) can help do just that. He has scored an impressive 21 points over the previous three gameweeks, and with rock-bottom Southampton visiting Selhurst Park next, there is a strong chance of a clean sheet and a potential attacking return.
Dejan Kulusevski
Dejan Kulusevski (£6.4m) has arguably been Tottenham Hotspur's best player so far this season, and with the amount of goals that Spurs score, there is a high chance that he will be involved. Struggling Wolves visit Ange Postecoglou's side next, and with 24 points over the past four gameweeks, the Swede could well score big in FPL again.
