In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of gameweek 16 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
After the new assistant manager chip was announced earlier this week, there is plenty of excitement for FPL managers ahead of Gameweek 16. Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 16, if you own him, Mohamed Salah seems like an obvious captain choice, given his sparkling form for Liverpool, which has now seen him score in no fewer than seven matches in a row in the Premier League. After the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park was postponed last weekend, the Reds now look forward to welcoming Fulham to Anfield.
For those who do not own Salah or want to pick a differential captain, Cole Palmer is another intriguing choice as Chelsea host fellow West London rivals Brentford at Stamford Bridge, especially after the England international midfielder's impressive 18-point haul in the Blues' 4-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
Selection | Market-best price |
---|---|
Cole Palmer to score anytime |

Cole Palmer to score first |

Cole Palmer to score 2+ |

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in gameweek 16, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem tempting given his recent form, and the fact that Liverpool are playing at home.
However, we would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
Morgan Rogers is a popular cheap enabler for FPL managers, given his likelihood of minutes and attack threat. However, the Aston Villa midfielder is on four yellow cards, and just one more would see him serve a one-game suspension, with a potentially tricky trip to Nottingham Forest on the horizon.
Market-best odds on Morgan Rogers to be booked: 9/2
Which defender is most likely to score?
Rayan Ait-Nouri is the joint-top scoring defender in the Premier League in the 2024/25 campaign, with a total of three goals to his name so far. A winnable game for Wolves against Ipswich Town at Molineux awaits over the weekend, and the marauding left wing-back will surely fancy his chances in front of goal.
Market-best odds on Rayan Ait-Nouri to score anytime: 7/1
Our top three cheap in-form players
Enzo Fernandez
Priced at a mere £5m in FPL, Enzo Fernandez could be a game-changing enabler for FPL teams with a kind set of fixtures on paper coming up for title-chasing Chelsea. The Argentine midfielder has scored an impressive 39 points over the previous five gameweeks. and given Brentford's awful away record in the Premier League thus far, the Blues should fancy themselves to continue their impressive winning run.
William Saliba
With still some concerns over the fitness of Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba is another nailed-on Arsenal defender who has been in among the goals recently. Indeed, the French centre-back has netted in each of his last two games in the English top flight, and so provides a lot of value being priced at £6.2m in FPL.
Justin Kluivert
Priced at just £5.5m, Justin Kluivert is another cheap midfield enabler to keep an eye on in the coming weeks. Indeed, the AFC Bournemouth man is capable of a big haul as shown by the 20 points he scored in Gameweek 13 after scoring a hat-trick in the Cherries' 4-2 win away at Wolves, and West Ham United at home this gameweek kicks off a kind next round of fixtures on paper coming up.
