In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 10 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
Premier League football is back this weekend, as FPL managers stress over making transfers, playing chips and deciding who to captain for Gameweek 10. Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed decisions…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 10, if you own him, Erling Haaland seems like the most obvious captain choice, with Manchester City playing AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. However, for those FPL managers who do not own Haaland or want to pick a cheaper differential captain, Mohamed Salah could also be a viable option as Liverpool host Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield.
Selection | Market-best price |

Mohamed Salah to score first |

Mohamed Salah to score 2+ |

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Haaland is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 10, using the triple-captain chip on him does not seem a smart choice given that Bournemouth should provide a stern test for City, having already beaten fellow title-challengers Arsenal 2-0 in their last home match in the Premier League. We would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
Rayan Ait-Nouri is currently the third-most transferred in player in this gameweek at the time of writing, which is not a surprise considering that he the attacking left-back has scored an impressive total of 25 points over the last four gameweeks, and Wolves have some relatively kind fixtures coming up on paper. However, he is stuck on four yellow cards at the moment, and just one more booking would see him serve a one-game suspension.
Market-best odds on Rayan Ait-Nouri to be booked: 3/1
Which defender is most likely to score?
Ethan Pinnock boasts two goals in his last three games in the Premier League, as the Brentford central defender plays Fulham away on Monday night. The Bees have some kind fixtures on paper coming up too, so he could be a solid purchase this week.
Market-best odds on Ethan Pinnock to score anytime: 18/1
Our top three cheap in-form players
Matheus Cunha
At just £6.5m at the time of writing, Matheus Cunha is at an excellent price for FPL managers. The Wolves forward has scored three goals in total in his previous five games in the Premier League, and has a fairly favourable fixture against Crystal Palace at Molineux this week.
Facundo Buonanotte
Facundo Buonanotte only costs a mere £5.1m in FPL, and is a great enabler to have in the squad, as managers will not be pressured into starting him every week at his price. However, we would recommend starting him this week if owned, as Ipswich Town away is a fixture with more points potential for the Leicester City midfielder, who has already racked up an impressive 23 points over the last four gameweeks.
Ashley Young
Ashley Young has picked up a return, whether it is points for an assist or clean sheet, in each of the previous five gameweeks. At just £4.5m, the Everton defender is seemingly a 90-minute man for Sean Dyche. and playing rock-bottom Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium over the weekend, the Toffees have a strong chance of keeping their third clean sheet in four matches in the English top flight.
