Expert football pools betting tips

The final day of the Premier League season will take place this weekend, and while Liverpool finally get to lift the Premier League trophy in front of their supporters, there are still some important issues to be ironed out across the rest of the league.

The biggest thing at stake this weekend is Champions League qualification, with five teams battling it out for three positions. While a draw will be a good result for some teams in this race, it could be terminal for others.

As ever, we're aiming to pick up as many points as possible from the scoring system outlined below:

  • Score draw: 3 points
  • No-score draw (0-0): 2 points
  • Home or away win: 1 point

Check out our final expert football pools betting tips of the season below.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace (Premier League)

It will be a huge day of celebrations at Anfield on Sunday, and not just for the home team, as Crystal Palace will still be buzzing on the back of their FA Cup final victory over Man City last weekend. As a result, this won't be a game played at a huge intensity, which always lends itself to a draw.

Palace have also been involved in plenty of league draws in recent weeks, with three of their last five matches finishing all square.

Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea (Premier League)

The biggest game of the weekend sees Nottingham Forest take on Chelsea in what could be a straight shootout for a place in the Champions League. Chelsea currently sit in fifth position, while Nottingham Forest are two places and one point below them.

It's fair to say that 37 games is a large enough sample size to conclude these two teams are evenly matched, and given what's at stake, they could easily cancel each other out this weekend. Additionally, a draw will only not be good enough for Chelsea if Aston Villa win at Old Trafford and Newcastle avoid defeat against Everton.

Fulham vs Man City (Premier League)

Man City have had a poor season by their recent standards, but they will be able to wipe the slate clean and go again as normal next season if they can avoid defeat at Craven Cottage. If they lose, then it opens the door to the wave of teams below them to leapfrog them into the top five.

Given that the Blues only need a point here, they won't be throwing players forward at will, which could see this match peter out into nothingness, especially because Fulham have nothing to play for now that Europa Conference League qualification is beyond them.

Ipswich vs West Ham United (Premier League)

Ipswich started their Premier League campaign with four draws from their first six home matches, so it would be fitting for them to finish things off with another draw as they prepare for a return to the Championship in August.

West Ham haven't had a good season, either, and draws have become commonplace in recent weeks, with two of their last five matches finishing all square.

Tottenham vs Brighton (Premier League)

It will be a carnival atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as the players and staff celebrate their Europa League triumph from Thursday night. There will be some sore heads in the Spurs camp and they haven't exactly been winning many matches recently anyway.

Brighton are the more likely winners here, but a draw wouldn't be a huge surprise. Only Everton and Arsenal have drawn more matches than the Seagulls this season, and a point would guarantee them eighth position, which could earn them Europa Conference League football.
