That should lead to an entertaining second leg in Athens, with both teams to score looking like a solid option.
It is worth pointing out that there have been goals at both ends in three of Rangers’ last four European fixtures away from home.
Shakhtar Donetsk vs Besiktas (Thursday, 19:00)
Shakhtar Donetsk and Besiktas will do battle in the second leg of their Europa League second round qualifier on Thursday night.
The hosts are in the driving seat after claiming a stunning 4-2 success in Turkey last midweek.
After losing the first leg, Besiktas must go hammer and tongs here if they are to stand any chance of reaching the third round.
As such, another goal-heavy contest could be on the cards when the pair renew hostilities in Krakow this week.
Both teams got on the scoresheet in four of Shakhtar’s final five outings in the league phase of last season’s Champions League.
As for Besiktas, each team obliged in five of their eight assignments in last season’s Europa League.
