IT'S been a surreal few days with the vast majority of sporting events and concerts cancelled as the world tries to contain and control things.

I expecting to be writing about Dundee beating Dunfermline, goals between Hibs and  St Johnstone and corners and cards in Sunday's Old Firm tussle but the Scottish and English governing bodies  have put paid to that with all matches cancelled until further notice.

There has been split opinion on the decision but one thing most people agree on is the surprise the English National League has chosen not follow the Football League, instead deciding matches will go ahead as planned.

I've had a good look through the leagues and picked out the following:

Notts County v Eastleigh (KO 3pm)

One club who will be delighted that today's fixtures are going ahead will be well supported Notts County. The Meadow Lane side average more than 5000 fans at home and given they are right in the promotion mix, there should be a bumper crowd as they welcome struggling Eastleigh.

They've won 3 on the spin and only Harrogate have picked up more points in the last 6 games. They've only lost 2 of their 19 games at home but 8 draws have really dented their automatic promotion hopes.

They've found the net at least twice in 9 of their last 13 games at home and with their front 4 delivering 40 goals between them, lowly Eastleigh have a job on their hands if they are to leave with a positive result.

The south coast club sit just 5 points above the relegation places and their away form is certainly questionable having conceded at least 2 goals in 10 of their last 13 on the road.

The momentum is certainly with the home side, they are strong at Meadow lane and with a big crowd to cheer them on they can get the job done. Could have taken the Notts County win 4/5 but going for goals.

Recommended Bet:

  • Notts County to score 2+ goals
  • 17/20 (Betway) (NAP)

English National League Total goals  – 5 matches 3pm

Quite a few games have fallen but still 5 matches go ahead and Skybet are offering total goals markets. Its actually a decent set of games for goals and I'm taking 14+ goals:

Recommended Bet:

  • 14+ goals to be scored
  • 10/11 (Skybet)

Over 2.5 match goals treble

  • Dover v Chesterfield
  • Spennymoor Town v Hereford
  • Braintree Town v St Albans

Pays 9/2 William Hill
