THERE were some strange results in midweek and I'm starting this weekend for one of the sides responsible.
Huddersfield have been in good form but their 3-0 win at Sheffield United wasn't expected. Firstly, they perform better at home and secondly the Blades had been sitting top of the table and with a 100 per cent home record.
It doesn't get any easier for Lee Clark's men as they visit fellow promotion challengers MK Dons. It's a tough one to call but looks full of goals. This pays 8-13 at Skybet.
Next I'm on Blackpool v Cardiff. The Tangerines have started well after the dramatic relegation suffered on the last day of the season and a huge turnover in staff.
They beat Blackpool 2-0 last week but won't get it as easy against a Cardiff side who have scored in their last six, including hitting five past Huddersfield in the Carling Cup. Back this at 7-10 with Stan James.
Staying in the Championship and I'm having a go at Crystal Palace v Middlesbrough. Tony Mowbray's Boro are going great guns and have won 10 of their last 12 games and have a 100 per cent away record.
However, Palace are tough to beat at Selhurst Park and are unbeaten there this season so a score draw could be the shout. Both teams to pay is 3-4 at Stan James.
Next I'm going with Sheffield Wedesday at Yeovil. I'm backing the Owls to bounce back form their 5-1 midweek mauling at Stevenage against not a great side.
However, Yeovil netted three in a defeat at Preston last Friday so will fancy breaching a defence that was shocking in the first half and better when Gary Megson made a half-time change. Both teams to score pays 4-6 at bet365.
Make it a fivefold with an early game, Port Vale v Shrewsbury. So for anyone who doesn't get on in time they can take the other four.
Vale have netted 15 in their last five and face a Shrewsbury side beginning to live up to their billing as one of the title favourites. The Shrews started slowly but are up to fourth and have netted in their last seven.
Both teams to score
MK Dons v Huddersfield
Blackpool v Cardiff
C Palace v Middlesbrough
Yeovil v Sheff Wed
Port Vale v Shrewsbury (ko 1pm)
Perm any 4 and all 5 (6 bets)
They’ve got goals written all over them Paul.
Nerves will go a ‘wee’ bit mate with the early kick off choice tho.
I thought so too but I suppose four out of five at least gives us a return. Had to put Port Vale in there because it looked a banker and that’s how it turned out. Disappointed with Palace not scoring at home and against 10 men for the closing stages
