I DECIDED I'be backing against Liverpool in their next game as I watched the highlights of their win against Burnley on Boxing Day.

It was a 1-0 steal for the Anfield men who looked terrible apart from one moment of magic that resulted in Philippe Coutinho setting up Raheem Sterling for a good goal.

If Brendan Rodgers is going to splash any cash when the transfer window opens first on his list will be a goalkeeper. Brad Jones isn't a top team's No.1 and the man he replaced, Simon Mignolet, played like a nervous kitten when he came on for the injured Jones at Turf Moor.

The win for Liverpool was vital but Burnley and Bournemouth are the only teams they've beaten in their last six – in fact I can't remember the last time they defeated a top side.

With Glen Johnson and Dejan Lovren still out Rodgers is likely to go with a three-man defence of Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure. Up front Sterling will again be on his own – or he could play alongside Mario Balotelli which means he'll still be on his own.

Swansea are a decent outfit who can give anyone a game on their day and boss Garry Monk knows Rodgers well having played for him at Liberty Stadium, and after a near-miss in the League Cup he gets another chance to get one over on his old boss. Monk has done a fine job.

The Swans sit above Liverpool in the table and last season were unlucky to lose a thriller 4-3 at Anfield and in October went down 2-1 in the Capital One Cup.

Monk's side have won their last two games 1-0 and have the best defensive record outside the Premier League's top four. Gylfi Sigurdsson hit a free-kick winner against Aston Villa on Friday and he and top scorer Wilfried Bony will be fit to start.

Bony scored twice in that 4-3 loss and has netted first in three of his last four starts away from home. He is 13-2 with bet365 to score first and 9-4 at 888sport to net at any time.

Liverpool are a biggest 8-11 with the likes of William Hill and bet365 while Swansea are 9-2 at Betfred and BetVictor with the draw 3-1 with boylesports.

If Swansea represent too much of a gamble go for Swansea or draw double chance 13-10 with 888sport or Swansea draw no bet at 16-5 with 888sport.

Recommended Bets

For the bet365 free bet offer i’m taking Swansea + 2 pre match which returns £70.
In play I will either be backing Sterling to net @ 7/4 or Swansea to win @ 9/2, depending on how the game looks early on. Bony to net is another option @ 21/10.

I have a gut feeling Rodgers will rest a few players for the home game with Leicester 3 days later.A few teams are juggling players like leaving them on the bench.

Swansea look way overpriced for this one am considering going 50 prematch swansea and using the 50 risk free inplay on swansea too, for the chance of a £450 with only £50 risked.

Whilst Liverpool aren’t playing great they have only lost once in there last 9 matches. Swansea may have won there last 2 games 1-0 but they were against 2 of the worst teams in the league. On the back of Burnley picking up a point at Man City today the 1-0 win for Liverpool over them doesn’t look to shabby does it?

    £50 on over 0.5goals
Cover the 0-0 draw for a £5er at 10/1 elsewhere
£50 to play with in play – i backed Fabregas at 4/1 anytime Stoke v Chelsea so happy days!

I don’t think Rodgers will rest any players as West Ham didn’t gain points and Tottenham etc only gaining a point, I think this could help the Reds find the result tomorrow as the game at home to Leicester 3 days later will be an easier one for Rodgers

Firstly a big fan at the work done by everyone here has made me win a lot more money. Would you all recommend opening an account with bet365 I heard they can be quite strict with people’s account

Be, not sure what you mean by strict. Bet365 in general have most markets and the inplay offer is a cracker.

Agree about Liverpool being poor, but Swansea’s away firm is abysmal . I know they beat Hull in their last away game, but so did Leicester. I think they’ve only won two away games all season. I reckon a draw tomorrow. Agree that Bony anytime is great value.

my thoughts and i`m a gooner , they ripped us to pieces why does everyone think liverpool suck.

they dont , but my free inplay bet is going on Swansea , but i dont think i`ll be £175 in profit come 10 o`clock.

GOOD LUCK GUYS , with 6 accounts i`ll be up too by backing liverpool on five , swansea inplay on one and putting £35 on the draw after 1st goal gets scored…

    HAPPY DAYZ……..

Swansea play Liverpool today, then qpr at home Thursday (winnable) then tranmere in the cup Saturday (winnable)
I get the feeling they will target those winnable games as its a hectic 3 games in 5 days.
don’t be surprised if there are a few surprise omissions in todays line up.
I go Liverpool win to nil in a tepid game, which is par for the course at anfield this season, 1 or 2 nil

Pre match double chance on home or away win inplay bet draw, thinking a draw in this match and that would suit me at nearly 3/1 if not double chance returns £15 profit

I’ve went with £50 on Swansea/Draw double chance at 11/10 prematch and will be sticking the second £50 on Sterling anytime in-play as I reckon he’s most likely to net if Liverpool are going to score.

So, Swansea going a couple of goals up early with a late goal for Sterling would be just lovely.
