THE DARTS resumes at 12:45 where we are down to the final eight.
The format remains a race to ten, and this is the order of play:
- Mensur Suljovic Vs Ian White
- Adrian Lewis Vs Simon Whitlock
- Michael van Gerwen Vs Dave Chisnall
- Benito van de Pas Vs Daryl Gurney
I managed 3/4 tips correct and nearly a clean sweep on Saturday, only Michael Smith blew out the full house with two text book double finishes. Doing the hard work is one thing, then missing the double is frustrating for us punters.
ON to today and Mensur Suljovic can reign supreme against Ian White at 11/10 with Ladbrokes and Skybet. The Austrian is having the season of his career as he homes in on a top 16 spot. White played out a thriller against Gerwyn Price, who will miss out on a seeding in the top 32 by virtue of one leg. I am not sure if Gerwyn was aware although the look on his face come the final leg did appear so.
Ian White played out a good game but could be subject to a slower pace.
Although White is 2-1 on the head to head, they have never played on TV and think on form, Mensur is the man to progress.
I expect some maximums in the MVG and Chisnall affair at around 3pm. The pair met earlier this month, where MVG won 10-4 and there were thirteen maximums in the process. The pair can rally off each other, and Chisnall knows the way to beat Mighty Mike.
MVG has been slow to get going, so Chizzy will need to fly out the blocks. Over 5.5 180s is 10/11 with Skybet and as short as 4/6 with other major firms!
Lastly, I like the Gurney/Pas game to go the distance with 11/10 with Paddy Power. The pair have a 1-1 on the head to head, but have never played one another in this format. The games they have played were close games, 6-4 and 6-5 respectively. Both have the chance to make a semi final, thus boosting profiles of both. Gurney will have to win the event to break the top 32 and has not entered the PDPA qualifier on Monday.
Recommendations:
Suljovic to beat White – 11/10 Skybet/Ladbrokes 2pts
D Chisnall over 5.5 180s – 10/11 Skybet 2 pts
Gurney/Pas – over 16.5 legs – 11/10 Paddy Power 1.5 pts
